Streets signs are not for advertising

I was hoping to inform a number of people, particulary in the Franklin area that street and road signs are not there for you to use for your advertising space.

I have seen a number of signs for someone’s birthday and another for someone selling pots stuck OVER road signs.

I believe that is illegal.

I know it is common practice to post “Garage Sale” posters on the poles of road signs but you cannot block the actual sign.

How else will people wish each other happy birthday?

Won’t anyone think of the birthdays!

I particularly hate to see street sign poles laden with everything except a street sign. Sadly a very common sight.

Just rip it down and put it in the bin. If its an ongoing thing let the council know.

Take the phone number from the advertisements (or the address in the case of garage sales) and go and complain in person.

Why, it’s much better to feel important by writing a post at work during your “coffee break”. As an added bonus your righteousness reaches a much broader audience too.

Thankyou, Captain obvious..

Take the phone number from the advertisements (or the address in the case of garage sales) and go and complain in person.
