Went along to the ANU O-week market day and Subway was advertising giving away a free 6″ sub. Sounded good to me so I filled in thier form and eagerly awaited my SMS voucher. Oh the joy to recieve it about 10 minutes ago. The only catch is it must be used today only between 6pm and 8pm… They better not start spamming me via any means from the information they collected.

Nothing more annoying than SMS spam… are there spam filters for phones these days? If not, then I pity you. 🙁

I wanted a free sub damn it. I feel stupid but their conditions werent exactly fair I’m pretty sure they didnt mention there was a 2 hour limit.

cutting and pasting RA stories from ABC news.

What does this “the font’s different” comment actually relate to?

No – these guys were legitimate, they changed the font.

You’ve got it lucky kid. Just imagine if you were overcharged $5 for a pizza.

As soon as they wanted you to fill out bureacratic forms and go through an elaborate ritual to get some weirdly-flavoured fast food, you should have smelt a rat.

When a food place is giving out forms to fill in, rather than food, you know they’re up to something.

Better still, post those details up here and a few of us can check it out for you. That way we can verify the results before you act on it.

I can do a free check to see if your Credit Card details have been stolen by the internet. Just respond with your number, the expiry date and the 3 digit number on the back and I’ll be right back with that info.

I’m with Skid on this – sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but if you participated in a promotion like this, you’re a moron.

If you’re of Uni age, into overmarketted food, and gullible enough to give away your mobile phone number to data harvesters for only one free sub, you’re exactly the target demographic they want.

Expect your information to have been sold to interested third parties within minutes.
Do you have a copy of their Terms and Conditions handy, or did you fail to read them and then consent, like that woman who complained about not getting the free parking she felt she deserved?

slow news day?

I could almost guarantee you’ll be getting SMS spam.
