Sugar and lemon juice, not just for lemonade

Out In Canberra bring the “can’t tear my eyes away” news that you can now get unwanted hair removed in Canberra with a concoction of sugar and lemon juice rather than hot wax.

Unlike waxing which removes a whole layer of skin and can be quite painful, Sugaring only adheres to dead skin cells, offering a luxurious exfoliation treatment.

“Sugaring is really a skin treatment with a side effect of hair removal,” says Erica Mayr, owner of Erica’s Aesthetic.

The things we learn.

Huh? Most commercial leg wax is actually made of sugar in any case. “Sugaring” is a traditional middle eastern hair removal technique, and is just as tough on skin as waxing.

I agree, but it still looks like a definate move away from wax, Ive found a woman who does threading in tuggeranong. I had it done in Sydney years ago and its taken quite a while to turn up here but it was worth the wait 🙂

Why in hell do people get into this hair removal gig at all, particularly the Brazilian thing?

I reckon that having a couple of days stubble rubbing against the sensitive skin in my groin would be an awful torture, rather than a fashion statement, and it wouldn’t matter if it was done with wax, sugar or cow poo. My wife tried it once (brazilian waxing), and she reckons it’ll be a cold day in hell before it happens again.

Dude, you have no idea what you’re missing!!!!

Way TMI!
