The popular summer outdoor screenings at the National Film and Sound Archive in Canberra will kick off on Saturday 4 January.

Screenings will run in the beautiful, heritage-listed courtyard every Saturday evening until 22 February.

This year the screenings will focus on 50 years ago – the fabulous year of 1964.

On gorgeous 35 mm, will be the 1964 classics:

A Hard Day’s Night (4 Jan)

Dr Strangelove (11 Jan)

Viva Las Vegas (18 Jan)

A Fistful of Dollars (25 Jan)

The Umbrellas of Cherbourg (1 Feb)

My Fair Lady (22 Feb)

Also screening will be the restored Australian Indigenous classic Wrong Side of the Road (8 Feb) and the cheesy US disaster romp Airport 1975 (15 Feb).

Tickets are $14/12 concession. Bookings on 6248 2000.

I reckon I’ll be there for that one 🙂

As long as they don’t show Magical Mystery Tour or Let It Be.
