Following the stunning success of debut EP ‘Seditious Material’, Super Best Friends are back for another crack at copping flak with sophomore release ‘Ready Aim Fire!’

The 6-tracker features the amazing title track Ready Aim Fire and 5 others which are equally mind-blowing.

Some of the songs are even so unique that a keyboard gets played on them.

So what are you waiting for?

Get ready for the fire of Super Best Friends!

And that should be “put a review up here” not ‘her’.

You see, this is the problem with written communication. no verbal cue’s to read actual intent. I wasn’t feeling tetchy when posted any of my thoughts in this Thread, in fact, I wrote all my above posts in good humour (the several glasses of wine I consumed while posting last night certainly helped).

My comments on the above poster for the gig have been made so I’ll leave them alone, however I was serious in saying I’d love to go to this, or any other gig, if I had the time and I do hope someone that goes along can post a review here.

Personally, if I ever hear anybody say thay have broad taste in music, cars, women etc. I just ask them for some examples. My music collection, such as it is, is always open for discussion and for others to enjoy, should they so wish to borrow stuff. I just wish the person that borrowed my autographed Kevin Bloody Wilson CD would kindly return it!

As for the gig in the OP, I’d love to go but I just don’t have time to get out much. But i was seriousin hoping someone that goes can but up a review her.

I love it when people say they have a ‘broad taste in music’. It usually means they listen to Coldplay AND Snow Patrol.

Does it? And wow could you ever prove your theory? Peronally, I love it when people make sweeping generalisations such as the one above without any shred of evidence.

My record (yea baby, records!) and CD collection currently includes, for example, Eminem, Lilly Allen, Black Eyed Peas, Bay City Rollers, ABBA, Metallica, Sex Pistols, Madness, Pink, John Denver, Johhny Cash, a huge load of 60, 70s, 80’s and 90s p Greenday, Gnarls Barkley, a sprinkling of classical CD’s and musical soundstracks including Le Mis. Phantom and Miss Siagon. To name only a few. It may not be as broad a collection as some others may have, but it seems pretty broad to me.

Wow, really eclectic. Of course, what you listen to in the privacy of your own home is nobody’s business but yours; I was merely highlighting your rather tetchy reply to Bloodnut’s ‘old man’ jibe and its use of the ‘broad taste in music’ card and the fact that yes – in my experience – people who say they have a ‘broad taste in music’ very often have nothing of the sort.

It’s just a gig poster, lighten up.

No thanks.

Did I gnash my teeth or threaten violence or mayhem? No. I simply stated my opinion. If yours differs, good luck to you el. Personally I believe using militaria to advertise a gig and make money the day before ANZAC Day is ‘a tad stupid’.

mmm.

is it ok for the military to use anzac day as a propaganda tool?

silly old man – come to the gig.

Is 40 really that old? Actually I have very broad taste in music and love live stuff these days but I lack the time to actually get to, and enjoy, a gig.

We can debate the use that the military makes of of ANZAC Day till the cows come home and I doubt we’ll ever agree, just take it as read I’ll stand by my previous comments. I hope you guys enjoy the gig and please post a review here afterwards.

It’s a cute poster.

But it makes me wonder what the axe-murderer looking guy on the right is doing to the surprised but happy looking guy in the middle.

So what’s with the band wearing Air Force uniforms (albeit with a RAAF cap badge on the left and what appears to be a Navy cap badge in the middle)? Not to mention medals! Is this linked to the gig being held, and CD launched the day before ANZAC Day? If so I’m not so keen on a band cashing in the day. If not, it all seems a tad stupid.

If the RSL see this poster there will be hell to pay. Hell to pay I tells ya…

am looking forward to this immensely.

although i hate the phrase ‘sophomore release’ more than rape.
