Superschool gets $6 million

The new Melba-Copland Secondary School, an amalgamation of Melba High School and Copland College is to receive $6 million in funding, according to the ABC online.

The school will begin operation next year.

They are going to keep 7-10 at melba site and the 11-12s at the copland site for most things but they are going to share admin and speciatly areas like the auto shop the tech areas.

Basically they’re pulling out the bells and whistles for something that really doesn’t need a PR moment.

This Govt’s only trying to suck up to the voters around the Melba/Copeland area after culling feeder primary schools.

Yeah, I think the deal is that this “super school” is actually just the existing Melba and Copland campuses being brought under a single administrative umbrella – to my knowledge there’s no new “site” per se to be seen.

Well I went to both Melba High and Copland College, and they are both in need of funding.

I’m just wondering what’s changing. Are the 7-10yrs still staying at Melba, and the 11-12yrs staying at Copland, but both schools will operate under the same banner?
