The Age reports that public servants here in Canberra getting in trouble over their email and internet use is on the rise.
Some 300 public servants were investigated for “improper use of the internet or email” in 2009-10, up 55 per cent on the previous year.
A report tabled in Parliament on Thursday last week has revealed federal government employees investigated for “improper use of the internet or email” was up 54.95 per cent on the 2008-09 result.
It said “just under half” of all employees investigated worked at the Australian Taxation Office.
80% of complaints proven too. On the other hand ~240 bad eggs in an organisation so vast is pretty good.
