ACT Policing has arrested two men and will be seeking to interview others in relation to incidents of multiple vehicle damage last weekend (April 5-7) in the Gungahlin suburbs of Forde and Bonner.

Police will allege that the men, both aged 18, one from Higgins and the other from Macgregor, were in the company of others in a silver Ford Ranger dual cab utility which was driven around the suburban streets.

It will be alleged that house bricks, which the men had taken from a building site, were thrown from the utility at other vehicles, causing tens of thousands of dollars in damage. In this most recent incident, as many as 11 vehicles were damaged, with broken glass and dented panels reported.

The two men will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date on property damage charges. Police enquiries into the incident are ongoing, including links to previous and similar property damage incidents reported in the Dunlop and Macgregor areas.

Witnesses who have not yet spoken to police but may have information which could assist the investigation are urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via the website at act.crimestoppers.com.au

There must be a way of accessing their discretionary income in order to provide restitution for their victims. Let them live on bread and water until they’ve fixed what they’ve done.

Given that the two they’ve caught were both 18 and considering how juvenile the crime is, it’s pretty damn likely that they still live with their parents.

To the Garema Place Stocks with them.

Would be fantastic if these stocks appeared overnight one night.

They could even carry advertising. ‘Garema Place Stocks, brought to you by RiotAct’.

Must everything have a religious connotation. Easter, get over it.

Hmm i had wondered how we could add some colour to Garema Place. Can i also suggest that we install a saltire cross or two just to liven things up.I’d be more than happy to lend a hand 🙂

Hallelujah, yes yes porker we need a sacrificial lamb or twenty to appease the gods for all the heinous crimes committed by low life!

These idiots should be made to pay for each and every car they have damaged and then loose their licence.

The shoe should be worn on the foot so they can see how it feels!

Thoroughly agree, but do you really think they’d have the money and/or assets to pay? Selling the car they were driving around in would help, assuming that they own it, which is unlikely.

Dropkicks like these are unlikely to have jobs or assets. To the Garema Place Stocks with them.

As much as we’d love to see their bloodied and battered bodies lying unconscious in Civic, the best thing is to hit them with a small claim through ACAT.

I prefer this option

This.

Hell, confiscate their car too. They obviously don’t deserve it.
