A 29-year-old Lyons woman is assisting police with enquiries in relation to the robbery of an elderly woman at the Commonwealth Bank ATM at Woden yesterday (March 15).
Around 11.35am yesterday, the elderly woman had just withdrawn money from the ATM when her purse was snatched by a woman. The offender immediately fled the area. The elderly woman was unharmed.

Members from Woden Police Station executed a search warrant earlier today on the 29-year-old’s unit.

First Constable Mark Scrivens from Woden Police Station said that police acted on information received from the public.

“A search warrant was sworn and executed on the woman’s home earlier today (Saturday, March 16),” First Constable Scrivens said.

Police executed the warrant about 11.20am on a unit at Strathgordon Court, Lyons. The 29-year-old woman was present during the execution of the warrant.

“We want to thank the media and the public for its response to this matter, which has led to a possible suspect being identified.”

Police would still like to talk to anyone who may have witnessed the robbery, or saw the woman in the area around the time of the incident. They are urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via www.act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.

Part of me is really hoping that it is the same girl that our lovely soft judges let off, you know, the one who brutally murdered that young man in Kingston?

I hope its her, she needs cumuppence.

Ah no the aboriginal female who stabbed Cameron Anderson to death is much younger, she’d be 21 or 22 years old now.

Dont you mean “apparently Aboriginal”, “lesbian”,” female”? I myself prefer murderess of dubious aboriginality who can lie well. Shame it wasnt her.

It’s quite possible she’ll end up with a suspended sentence.

By the neck, preferably.

and she can pay back the old duck too!

The severity of the sentence will obviously depend on whether or not she has a previous criminal record which is suspect may be the case. It’s quite possible she’ll end up with a suspended sentence.

Until convicted, she’s an ‘alleged theiving frart-brain’.

Took the filth less than 24 hrs to identify, organise a warrant and apprehend the lass. Well done all.

Luckily for her, Johnnie Cochran and Robert Kardashian have agreed to represent her from their respective graves.

They’re going to use the unbeatable grew-up-poor, needed-drug-money, am-female-with-five-kids-to-three-dads, too-much-work-to-wait-in-a-job-line-as-opposed-to-an-ATM-line, abused-as-a-child-by-a-million-people Chewbacca defense (sic).
