Witnesses are being sought by police following an unusual incident in Kaleen last Thursday afternoon (August 4).
Around 5pm three young children were playing unsupervised in the reserve area at the end of Tyrell Circuit, Kaleen. The three children, all aged under 10, reportedly saw a man with a black dog get out of a vehicle, approach them and swing a baseball bat at them. The children then ran from the area.
A short time later the same three children returned to the reserve with a 13-year-old child. It was reported the same male chased the children but stopped after seeing the older child nearby. The man then left the area.
The man is described as being about 183cm (6’) tall, with a medium build and short dark-coloured hair. He was wearing a black business suit and was carrying a black backpack.
Police are asking any person who may have witnessed the incident or may have seen a man matching the description in the Kaleen area to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or report via the Crime Stoppers website on www.act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.
