Bringing all the election detritus together to spare our thoroughly over it readers.

This blog within a blog will update throughout the day until I head to the Phoenix for the poetry slam.

Here we go.

Katy Gallagher is trying to frame the Liberals health announcements.

Labor hopeful in Molonglo Meegan Fitzharris has the surprising news that Gungahlinistes she’s polled want their town centre to retain its feel. Astonishing what you can get used to.

Is the Canberra Times a newspaper or a stripper? They’ve got polling data but you’ve got to keep the clicks coming if you want to see the full monty.

Here on RiotACT I equate ACT Labor to underpants gnomes.

The Greens’ Shane Rattenbury has decided now’s a good time to get excited about community legal centres.

Andrew Barr is a’ hootin’ and a’ hollerin’ that the Liberals.Steve Doszpot might have said something he agrees with about rates.

Labor Member for Fraser Andrew Leigh is guest blogging on Katy’s website on why public servants are bulk ace.

The long awaited Liberal Health Policy promises more of things you’ll like.

Katy Gallagher is not impressed by Zed and Jeremy’s health policy. She’s going so far as to say they’re cheating and copying her work.

The Canberra Times dance of the seven veils goes on describing Katy Gallagher’s preferred Chief Minister lead as “enormous”.

Elections ACT are letting us know there have been 38,000 pre-poll votes cast. Those wanting to get in early have until 8pm Friday, after which, you know, normal voting.

The ABC’s Antony Green has some electoral history up.

Labor are promising a special children’s stream at the emergency department of the Hospital.

The Liberals have kindly provided me a long list of previously announced health policies.

The Bullet Trainers have been laying track in Garema Place:

bullet train construction

Joy Burch is very excited that the Liberals have not put out a carers policy yet.

Zed and Jeremy have more for mental health.

PantsMan has sent in this contribution:

Dr Seuss provides his views on ACT Election.

The time has come,
The time is now.
Just go, go, go!
I don’t care how.

You can go by foot.
You can go by cow.
ACT Labor,
will you please go now!

You can go on skates,
you can go on skis.
You can go in a hat.
But please, go please!

I don’t care.
You can go by bike.
You can go on a Zike-Bike
if you like.

If you like, you can go,
in an old blue shoe,
Just go, go go!
Please do, do, do!

ACT Labor,
I don’t care how.
ACT Labor,
will you please go now?

You can go on stilts,
You can go by fish.
You can go in a Crunk-Car
if you wish.

If you wish you may go
by lion’s tail
Or stamp yourself
and go by mail.

ACT Labor
Don’t you know
the time has come,
so GO, GO, GO!

Get on your way!
Please, Labor
You might like going
in a Zumble-Zay!

You can go by balloon…or broomstick.
OR you can go by camel in a bureau drawer.
You can go by bumble boat…or jet…
I don’t care how you go, just GET!

Get yourself a Ga-Zoom.
You can go with a….BOOM!
Labor, Labor, Labor,
Will you leave this room!

ACT Labor, I don’t care HOW!
ACT Labor, will you please GO NOW!

I said GO and GO I meant,
The time had come.
SO…Labor went.

At the North Canberra Community Council Candidates Forum tonight there were:
3 Greens
1 Pirate
1 Motorist
1 ALP
Zero Liberals. Yes – zero, out of seven.
And that’s all the community council forums for Molonglo completed and interestingly Andrew Barr hasn’t been to any.

Kate Lundy has backtracked on her earlier announcement that the feds would only fund a paediatric ward with $350,000 if Canberrans vote Labor in. After being called on that bit of blackmail by Jeremy Hanson, she issued a clarification. Yes, federal co-funding would happen with a Liberal ACT Government after all.

PantsMan:

If a Zumble-Zay,
Takes Katie away,
Do you want to be led
By slumdumpterous Zed?

Love your poem!

Hey! Kate Lundy just announced on ABC 666 News that the federal government will only assist Canberra’s paediatric ward with $350,000 if Labor is re-elected. Make of that what you will – surely holding sick kiddies to ransom is a bit extreme.

While I’m not saying I don’t believe you, Masquara, but can anyone else corroborate on this?
I don’t think it’s too much of a stretch to see it happening.

I’m afraid I couldn’t record it – but absolutely she used the exact words “only if Labor is elected”. Regrettably, 666 doesn’t podcast the way Radio National does. You could ask her office for her exact words – they will have a recording and a transcript.

unlike The Australian, I won’t be biting.

You pay for the Oz!?

Re the tories, their policies might have a bit of currency if they bothered to flesh them out a bit more. And that’s saying something considering they’re not saying anything about a whole lot of things. Pretty pez show. The other two outfits look like consummate professionasl by contrast.

Speaking of Canberra Times keeping the clicks coming, anyone else notice the first signs they may be getting ready to put up a paywall.

I wrote it off as dodgy links the first few times it happened, but quite often now stories from CT and SMH throw up a Fairfax login dialogue. Only a matter of time, and unlike The Australian, I won’t be biting.
