Where the spirit never dies
The brutal concrete stormwater drains, scoured as they are after every downpour, don’t seem like a natural place to find any life.
So when I looked down into a damaged patch, where the water pools deeper, today I was surprised to see things moving around.
Closer inspection revealed tadpoles! Where they came from and where they’re going remains a mystery but I found it strangely affirming.
