The 4th of March was the official Clean up Australia Day. Due to bad weather condition in ACT, the Taiwanese Association of Canberra Australia (TACA) had decided to postpone to a later date for safety reasons. TACA has now rescheduled the Clean up Australia Day to 25th March, Sunday.

TACA is one of the earliest groups participating in this event over the past few years. It has always been actively involved in and received wide spread recognition. TACA’s President Mr. Yang-muh Lai is enthusiastically mobilising the Taiwanese community to have a strong appearance in this coming Sunday.

The Representative of the Taipei Economic & Cultural Office in Australia, Ms. Katharine Siao-Yue Chang, gave her full support to this meaningful activity and will join together with the TACA to lead this environmental initiative with the Taiwanese community in Canberra to participate in this event. So far the responses are very positive and all the participants are looking forward to do their best to contribute more to the Canberra environment.

Although there are only about 200 Taiwanese living in Canberra, the volunteer number for Clean up Australia Day was high last year, nearly 50 Taiwanese residents participated and many bringing the whole family together.

All the participants will meet at Black Mountain Peninsula this Sunday from 9:00 am to 11:30 am and hope to see many their Canberran neighbours there for the big Clean up.

Would like to see the paid employees of TAMS participate in CUAD every day.

Nice to see more national groups participating in CUAD.
