For the upcoming election, of course, is that I mean.

I have a vague recollection of someone telling me that the 2007 election was the last time it was going to be run, but I am hoping that this is a false memory as I have a friend coming up from Melbourne for the election weekend (for the election – fellow politics geek) and I wanted to share the tally room experience with her as I had a blast going in 2007.

Anyone know a definitive answer?

It certainly was a blast in 2007 watching the number crunching through the evening, especially when Maxine McKew toppled John Howard! The cheer that went up was extraordinary!

There will be a tally room, but the Virtual Tally Room is where the results will be updated faster if you only care about the result.
(and the VTR what the AEC staff themselves and their media friends in the Tally Room will be looking at on the computers in front of them)

However there is something perversely interesting about people who travelled any distance to be part of a crowd which only exists to have their emotions and excitement be swayed one way or another by reading numbers and experts talking about numbers, even if those same numbers and coverage are available from the safety and relative warmth (the Tally Room can be cold) of their own home.

I never think of going anymore. My mum took me to as many as possible when I was old enough.

It was fun (was I mad lol)!

Should be a good one.

Yes it will be there.

Definetly will be a tally room.
