Territory and Municipal Services have released a schedule of the grass they plan to cut as the green tsunami clogs Canberra.

So hold off complaining unless you’ve missed the cut so to speak.

Not complaining, but as there is nothing in our area on the list I will be doing a few passes of the track thru our local park to the shops when I have the mower out this weekend.

This morning on the way to work, I saw a TAMs mower operator drinking a bottle of beer and hiding it ..

Hmmmm, it’s as I feared. You know, I’m not that surprised that they didn’t know where the garden beds were. It can be extremely hard to tell, what with the metre high weeds and all. I have seen them come around with some sort of herbicide, but obviously that doesn’t go on the gardens, only path edges and whatnot.

So I guess I’ll just keep pulling weeds while the kids play on the equipment. You never know, one day we might be able to see the garden beds!

Excellent, must remember to take hayfever meds..

Weeding Ha! Good luck
TAMS didn’t even know where there garden beds were ’til a couple of years ago when they employed me and another guy to GPS them. The garden beds were planted over the years and no-one ever took note of where they were installed.

So no, there is no weeding program for the garden beds that I know of.

The Govt do spray the weeds in the parks – but they are probably too flatout with the mowing. It takes them 3 months to mow the park near my house and that’s with me ringing them. The grass was over 6ft tall in the park. Ring Canberra Connect.

I wonder about the weeds in garden beds, though? I’ve just spent 45 mins weeding my local park, and you can’t even tell. :S Do they do weeding, does anyone know?
