1. The Cascades Swimming Hole at Googong is being closed:

    Please note: The Cascades Swimming Hole at Googong Dam is temporarily closed due to construction work on the dam spillway. Gates have been erected at the entrance to the swimming hole to restrict public access and Rangers will be patrolling the area. The swimming hole will be re-opened as soon as there are no safety risks. The ACT Government apologises for any inconvenience. For further information on the closure of the Cascades Swimming Hole, contact the ACTEW Project Information Line on 6248 3563.

    Googong Foreshores is 10 kilometres south of Queanbeyan and is managed as a water catchment, wildlife refuge and public recreation area. Sail your yacht, paddle your canoe or fish for trout or native fish. You can quietly observe the wildlife or ride your mountain bike on the fire trails. Or visit the London Bridge Arch and fascinating historic homestead. Visit Googong Foreshores and experience the diversity.Visit Googong Foreshores and experience the diversity. 2. Orroral Campground closed:

    “The Orroral Campground in Namadgi National Park is temporarily closed whilst a routine assessment of the area is undertaken to ensure there are no hazardous trees or limbs in the immediate vicinity of the campground.”

Cascades is down from the dam, not in the dam. You cannot swim in the dam. You can flip the kayak in it though, treading water in 60 odd feet and trying to bale is a joy.
You are allowed to take a whizz in it though.

Nest you’ll be telling me they have sex in there.

I can’t believe the fish don’t get out before they go to the toilet! That’s pretty disgusting.

AND ANIMALS POO AND WEE IN IT!!!!

AND THE FILTHY FISH DON’T GET OUT BEFORE THEY GO TO THE TOILET!!!

There is a reason we pre-treat water before we drink it.

People swim in our water supply? I didn’t think it was allowed.

That was a large part of why I ran it.
