Taxi driver puts foot in their mouth

This morning I received an email about Canberra Silver Service Taxis from Krystjann. Here it is.

Tonight while parked on London circuit in a LOADING ZONE i received an offensive message on my car which is clearly marked with a disability sticker hence me being disabled which was written on the back of a Silver Taxi Service Tax Invoice Slip that said this:

“You parked in a taxi rank you illiterate inbread, you dumb s***”

As a disabled driver and all of the disabled spaces were taken nearby I parked where I have all rights to.

So according to Canberra Silver Service Taxi’s I’m a illiterate inbread, and a dumb s*** for parking in a LOADING ZONE as a disabled driver which I totally totally within my rights to do. Below is the email sent to Canberra Silver Service Taxi’s after rather heated call that I placed with them upon arriving to my car to find one of their tax invoice slips with that message on the back on my windscreen.

“Hi my name is Krystjann and I rang to complain to you guys for a member of your staff leaving a very offensive message on my car as a disabled person with a clear sticker in my windscreen showing that I have full rights to park where I did, I am totally discussed in the manner of your staff and I will be forwarding the message left on the back of your silver service tax invoice to Riot Act, Canberra Times and ACA because of the disrespect I have been shown as disabled person for parking in the only place available at the time which I am well within my rights to do.

I have a tax invoice slip fwith your details on it and on the back says the following which was left on my windscreen. “you parked in a taxi rank you illiterate inbread, you dumb shit”

This kind of comment is uncalled for, and totally removes my respect for your company of which I have previously used on a regular basis for my staff and clients.. I will NEVER use your services again, and I will be drafting letters to the media regarding this until early hours this morning. I will make a point to defer any friend, clients, or other people from using your services based on tonights offensive behaviour.

I expect the responsible person for leaving this message on my Honda accord euro, silver in colour ****** parked in a ‘LOADING ZONE’ on London circuit this evening to to be held accountable for their actions. I also expect someone for HR or higher to call me on********** ASAP regarding this matter to avoid me seeking legal action against your company for Indemnity towards my disability. I spoke with a man in the call centre this evening and explained the situation and he requested I sent this email to get a response.
my rights to do after the offensive behaviour of one of your staff members.

Sincerely,

Krystjann ******

Is the same Kristjann as the Canberra-based disabled “psychic healer”? If so, she hasn’t followed her own clairvoyant advice: “Hope everyone is having an amazing week, this week should be a time of deep thinking for those looking for answers, but from now until the 19th July would not be a good time to act on them as there is strong interference from the planets being out of whack.” : 0

She is a He 😉

You cannot be serious. You’d go and seek legal action because someone hurt your feelings?

Well that is the way legislation is heading. Maybe Krysjianne is physhing fotr Riotact insults so she can embark on suing the world at large? Almighty chip on shoulder perhaps.

I’m going to declare both sides in this are idiots.

I’ve seen enough taxi drivers parking illegally and many booked for doing so to know they’re far from innocent. If the taxi driver wanted to make a point, there’s more mature ways to do it.

On the other hand, disabled person was in the wrong too and their email is moronic (and potentially illegal, as there are laws about making threats of legal action).

Given the propensity of the legal fraternity to make unfounded threats of legal action I with those laws were enforced.

How do you know it was definitely from a taxi driver?

Have you called in the CSI for a full fingerprint and DNA analysis? We need to get to the bottom of this critically important issue.

But, but, but someone’s entitlements have been infringed upon!!! You must be outraged by this! You MUST!!!

That’s how we roll in the 21st century.

What everyone is forgetting is that taxi’s can (according to them anyway) park wherever they want.

Both fighting over the right to do the wrong thing.

Case closed.

I think this should be reworded to – Taxi driver AND OP puts foot in mouth

Yes, there is that. Out of respect to the OP I didn’t go there, despite the large amount of material to work with.

What everyone is forgetting is that taxi’s can (according to them anyway) park wherever they want.

I don’t think the Taxi driver was having a go at you for being disabled, but that the fact you parked in ‘his’ spot. Loading zone be damned.

Ah, dripping with so much irony that you could bottle it and sell it to a passing irony trader.

I was hoping the addition of the ™ would make it clear I was being deliberately ironic. 😛

“Genious” is probably my favourite bit of internet spelling.

Although reading that someone was up on their “petal stools” once is a very close second.

I thought ” I am totally discussed in the manner of your staff ” was pretty special too!

“legal action . . . for Indemnity towards my disability” deserves a mention.

Don’t email angry, folks. Or at the very least, proofread thoroughly.

I assume you pronounce ‘Genious’ with a hard ‘G’

From Rego ACT :

Doesn’t say anything specifically about commercial zones, but it does mention ACT Government car parks that are free but time limited. Little bit ambiguous. Does a commercial zone fall into the broad category of an ACT Government car park? Means someone with a disabled permit could park in a taxi rank or loading zone for up to 2 hours.

You’d still be required to display a Loading Zone permit.

I have absolutely nothing against people with a disability, my family has members with a disability. I am in no way condoning the actions of the mystery author, I find it appalling behaviour. It is worth making sure you know your rights before you rant though. And having a disability doesn’t give people the right to everything.
Are you aware of your rights?

My thoughts exactly.

From Rego ACT :

Parking Concessions
Under the new national minimum parking concession standards of the Australian Disability Parking Scheme, mobility parking permit holders will continue to receive the existing parking concessions within the ACT. However, when travelling interstate, permit holders should check local parking concession arrangements as they may vary.

Within the ACT, a mobility parking permit allows a person to park in the special wide bays reserved for mobility parking permit holders. Some of these spaces have a time limit which must be observed by the mobility parking permit holder.

Mobility parking permit holders can also park free of charge at meters and in ticket parking areas:

For up to 2 hours, if the time limit on the parking sign is 30 minutes or less; and
For an unlimited time, if the time limit on the parking sign is more than 30 minutes.
The same extended time limits apply to other ACT Government car parks and on-street parking spaces that are free, but time restricted. For example:

If the time limit on the parking sign is 15 minutes, a permit holder can park for 2 hours; and
If the time limit on the parking sign is 1 hour, a permit holder can park for an unlimited time.
Please note that some privately operated carparks may charge parking fees.

Not too sure what the TM symbolises (apart from trade mark [I still don’t understand]) but I do believe the taxi driver should look up the term mutually exclusive.

+1 totally oarsum!

Isn’t this one of these places where the loading zone is timed, and the “Taxi At All Other Times” vaguely applies.
I have picked up a parking ticket in Bunda St early one evening. It seems to have been the last ticket issued for this offense. ie any other time I have been in Bunda St, the expired loading zones are chockers with not taxis, and not a TIN to be seen.
Yes, a bit sour grapes, but mostly meh.

I also expect someone for HR or higher to call me on********** ASAP regarding this matter to avoid me seeking legal action against your company for Indemnity towards my disability.

Um….. I think if you read the Parking rules, even if you do have a Disability Sticker, your still not allowed to park in a loading zone, unless your in a commercial vehicle.
