Restaurant Review - Thai Som Tum Restaurant, Conder

I’m happy to report that not only does Conder have a new restaurant in the form of Thai Som Tum but that it’s actually really good.

It’s located at 17 Sidney Nolan Street and is a bit similar in decor to Lemongrass in Woden which makes me wonder whether there might be a connection.

The service was good, prices reasonable and the laksa was really, really good with an abundance of seafood (not a bit of seafood extender to be seen!), lots of vegies and a lovely fragrant broth.

Prices started at around $8 for an entree and the most expensive dish would’ve been around $20.

They seemed to be doing a roaring trade in takeaway and home deliveries and the restaurant itself was quite busy.

I’m pretty sure I can speak on behalf of other Lanyonites when I say that they’re a really welcome addition to our area.

Oh no deezagood, that’s awful! I’ll be careful what I recommend in future I guess, although the laksa was good I thought. What did you order? Why were you so disappointed?

Disappointed 🙁

I have just made a reservation!

Hi djk, it’s definitely worth the effort. It’s nice to have an alternative other than Dim Sim Cafe and the Chinese restaurant at the Lanyon Club (not that either of them are dreadful) don’t you think? Perhaps a few other restaurateurs might follow suit and open up down our way eventually, fingers crossed.

TY, saw this the other day and will definitely give it a try now!
