Thanks Where Thanks Is Due.

I know that the ACT Traffic Police must cop alot of flack from disgruntled motorists – so I would just like to post a quick note to say thank you to the AFP Officer who pulled me over in my work vehicle on the city bound side of the Monaro Highway on Feb 16th.

As I didn’t get a chance to thank you properly in person I just want to let you know that I sincerely appreciate what you did for me. You are a good bloke and you have a kind heart.

Warm regards,

Lyshious

So, if he DID give you a ticket, would you be posting “Thanks for teaching me a lesson. I won’t do it again?”

You’re only thankful because he let you off, no other reason.

Umm yeah well, that does appear to be the gist of the whole post hey?

I don’t know what else you want the OP to say to this?

But then again, they could be thankful that they copper wasn’t being a jerk, listened to her, had presence of mind to actually ask about the infringement instead of just giving a ticket straight away…

Hmm I don’t feel that your post adds much to the fact that someone is saying thank you for the way they were punished?

No shit Sherlock, one is hardly going to be thankful if someone has upset them are they, haha.

Yepo, sent out without GPS or 247 supervision after millions are spent

Never know if they pressed the playback button on the dash recorders they could find about $1m of political litter on the road sides and never need to book anyone again.

Oh well looks like its back to having 100km in 6 second cars on 110km/hr rated roads, pollies doing more back room deals, and coppers locking anyone up who cant afford the next model of a 110km 3 second car

Gee those poor things…

Those unmarked police cars spend the majority of their time occupying the car park of the city police station, probably with the exception of the white one which they use for RAPID and other speed detection.

luther was probably lucky that the car was most likely a detective’s car, you’d have to do something downright stupid or dangerous for them to bother to pull you over, too much paperwork I’d expect.

KB was extremely lucky, pity they only used the silver SS ute for very short periods. Though they also have black and dark green SS utes in their fleet, they also live in the compound in the city for 95% of the time.

Is that 95% of your time? Or just when you park your car to walk to your office? You see them in the morning when you walk past AND in the afternoon when you walk past, they could not possibly have been out between those times…

Do you spend a majority of your time outside the city police station? That’s a little odd…

While we’re talking to police:

I would like to apologise to the guy I flipped off and called a “motherf—er” while passing near the Alexander Macaroni Centre on Tuesday.

I was on cruise control set at 100km/h and I wanted to overtake a car doing about 96km/h. The dude was (I’m guessing, but probably) also using cruise control and kind of boxed me in so I couldn’t overtake. After I had expressed to him my emotions, he quickly pulled in front of me and flicked a little button that brought to my attention some LED’s on his parcel shelf that let me know that he was a police officer and that I was, in fact, said motherf—er. Sorry about that, and thankyou for not pulling me over when you were probably entitled to!

You got all hepped up, flipped the bird and called someone a motherf__er because you wanted to go 4kmh faster?

You really really need to get professional help.

Sounds like he was screwing with you from the word go.

BAHAHAHAAH, thats funny.

I was let off for filering on my motorbike one day. A car moved to block me to avoid him I crossed the double white lines, I resettled in the lane behind a silver SS Ute.

While I was sitting there a light started flashing below the bumper in my eyesight (I was looking down at the time), I thought “whats that blue light, that not suppossed to be there…..” then I noticed the red one on the other side & my heart sank.

I looked up into the window & there was a big burly arm pointing left…….

He let me off, surprised the hell out of me.

Discalimer: I knew I was doing wrong so there is no need to lecture me on motorcyle etiquette, keep it out of this thread please.

If you want to thank him personally; I believe his badge number would be on your caution notice – you could call up and ask for his name.

So, if he DID give you a ticket, would you be posting “Thanks for teaching me a lesson. I won’t do it again?”

You’re only thankful because he let you off, no other reason.

Nope – no sarcasm – and yes, I can see why it looks somewhat strange.

It is actually a sincere attempt to thank the bloke – he gave me a caution instead of a ticket on a day where nothing was going right. Didn’t get a chance to say thank you to him properly as he’d left my window before I could do so – and I thought that he deserved some thanks – he could have made my day much worse and he chose to show me some leniency.

fail. epic.

Indeed, this reeks of potential sarcasm

I would like to thank the old man in the mobility scooter who didn’t buzz his horn behind me because he couldn’t be bothered going around me and instead thought that he was entitled to just push his way though. I in turn didn’t stop turn around and stand in the way just to annoy you.

More explanation…..is does sound weird to be thanking someone for pulling you over.

This is either sarcasm or quite strange.
