Tharwa bridge catches fire

By Thumper - 1 July 2008 17

Nothing online as yet but radio reports have been coming through suggesting that a fire has burnt a hole in the old Tharwa bridge.

ACT fire brigade and rural brigades attended and had the fire under control.

From all reports there is not a great deal of damage.

What’s Your opinion?

While they were doing some restoration work no less 😉

Stanhopeless and Hargreaves’ new home improvement show episode #1! special bloopers outtake of their cut price renovations segment. Either that or they snuck down to destroy the evidence of their stuff up, they’re still trying to think of ways to burn down the GDE.

I blame Val Jeffrey! 😉

maybe the act govt were going to say that it couldn’t be saved, so lets tear it down and put a concrete one in its place. (they don’t burn)

Mr Evil 4:45 pm 01 Jul 08

It wasn’t ACT Labor out burning documents before the next election, was it?

I-filed 4:33 pm 01 Jul 08

“set on fire” rather than “catches fire” i expect …

peterh 4:11 pm 01 Jul 08

maybe it was a warning beacon to prevent cars from trying to cross??

Whatsup 3:54 pm 01 Jul 08

Ya know it is bloody cold out there but lighting a fire to keep warm ON the bridge wasn’t the workers finest moment.

hk0reduck 3:45 pm 01 Jul 08

I heard on the wirless that it’s a 3m hole, accidentally lit by workers on the bridge.

G-Fresh 3:28 pm 01 Jul 08

Let’s cross that bridge when we come to it.

Morgan 3:26 pm 01 Jul 08
