Tharwa tunnel

Proposed by-pass tunnel of Tharwa to provide replacements for the existing Tharwa Bridge while at the same time providing a new access path for damaged Smiths Road bridge (over the Gundgenby River)

A two lane tunnel with access on Tharwa Drive,Tidbinbilla Road, Naas Road and Smiths Road. Each of these entrances will be monitored by automatic toll cameras.

(plans are on www.smithsroad.com)

HEHEHE!

You said ass!

(hey, someone had to be the immature one to say it)

Probably would have been cheaper than rebuilding the bridge

draining Lake Burley Griffin to get rid of the carp

maybe they should, then they can scrape away the surface, give it a good clean and maybe slow the blue green algae out breaks for a while.

And find any number of missing persons, “lost” cabinet documents and ASIO KGB infiltrators.

I think the queanbeyan toll would be better.

Actually, with some of the planning decisions made recently this doesn’t sound so outlandish at all. The real fools are the planners and especially Andrew Barr who is an April fool joke 365 days a year.

Remember the one about draining Lake Burley Griffin to get rid of the carp? That was a goodie.

I do indeed, that was a classic. And like all good hoaxes, it had an element of truth and usefulness.

Did the CT do an April Fools this year? They used to do very good ones, and then seemed to give up.

Too many precious people got offended once they realised they had been suckered. Remember the one about draining Lake Burley Griffin to get rid of the carp? That was a goodie.

Then there was the time they ran a story about draining the lake and turning it into suburbs… oh wait, that wasn’t April Fools, that really was some crackpot developer!

This morning I rang ‘Mrs Chop’ and said we had an urgent call from the vet asking for us to take our cat in to donate blood. After explaining our cat had a rare blood type and they had a cat dying on the operating table she running around madly trying to catch our moggy …..

This is not fair. My wagon needs to be pulled by 4 horses because I need to carry all the kids gear and tow a boat. I don’t see why I should have to pay extra.
