The ACT Emergency Services Agency Commissioner Mark Crosweller has announced that the official 2011/2012 bushfire season for the ACT will conclude tonight at 11.59pm.

“For a second successive summer period, the level of rainfall the ACT has received has produced tremendous growth in grass and bush land around the region,” Commissioner Crosweller said.

“Fortunately, no significant hot and windy conditions were experienced for a lengthy period over the season”, he said.“Unless conditions direct otherwise, the bushfire season will recommence on October 1, 2012”.

It’s going to be an interesting year when we don’t have much rainfall, after a lot of growth.

That’s the way mother nature intended it.
