The ABC reports that Sydney’s Uelese Faumuina has copped a $2,000 fine for his part in the fatal brawl outside the Cube nightclub.

“The court heard Faumuina punched Mr Street once during the incident, leaving him with a broken eye socket, broken nose and nerve damage. Faumuina has been fined $2,000.

Magistrate John Burns reportedly thinks this paltry penalty will deter future violence.

The only thing that probably would prevent this young man from getting involved in future fights is that it was his friend who was stabbed in this brawl and he lost his life. If thats not a wake-up call I don’t know what is.

He must have really twatted that guy to do so much damage in one punch…

Start introducing the punish of “do unto as you wish other do unto you”.
Lets see how he likes those injuries sustained on him (oh and just for good measure, give him a $10k fine).

Ohh poor little vegemite – I bet that taught him a lesson – if only in saving coin. I agree with RG

Although $2000 is probably a substantial amount of money for this young man, I don’t see it preventing him from becoming involved in another incident. I can’t imagine anyone backing away from a fight because down the road it “might” cost them $2000. People just don’t think like that, especially those who are prone to getting into fights.
