The baby wombats need your help

The RSPCA has been been hit by a spate of orphaned baby wombats and other native wildlife.

“RSPCA ACT has been overwhelmed with injured and orphaned native animals during the hotter months of the year. Used to caring for wombats on an individual basis from time to time, RSPCA ACT wildlife staff are currently caring for four of these appealing native creatures.

RSPCA ACT will need to provide hands on care for these four wombats for at least 18 months, a challenge for staff but also a huge burden on already limited facilities.

They’d like you to know that it’s an extra demand on their strained resources. Also try not to mow down as much wildlife with your cars.

They’ve kindly provided us with this picture to show just how cute a baby wombat can be.

I’m guessing this is your cue to provide money or help.

Done – matched and raised. 😉

And by the way, I wasn’t having a go at all pensioners – just the ones who have no idea and will feed their bonus through the pokies, stick it up their arm in ‘medicinal’ fashion, piss it up the wall at the club or waste it on rubbish at Harvey Norman, etc.

The late Gordon Piper (Bob Hatfield) had a leg amputated due to chronic diabetes complications, and also faced charges of child abuse (Found not guilty).

Apart from that he owned and drove a truck, served in the Royal Australian Air Force, sold real estate and laboured on the tunnelling for Sydney’s eastern suburbs railway.
Piper is pictured on the Wall of Achievement at Penrith City Council.
He set up a television training centre and community theatre in Penrith, supported the Penrith Rotary Club, performed for the Lions Club of Cambridge Park, and belonged to the Variety Club of Australia.

(From this article in the age)

Pity about the whole court thing, apart from that he seemed like a really nice guy.

I met Sid Heyland in Grace Bros once, he was trying on suit jackets and when he saw me and my mum looking (I was a tacker, mum was aghast being a big ACP fan) he jokingly asked if we could help him remove the security tag – always a funny guy.

Bet ya didn’t know that 🙂

2 Aussie personalities that are dearly missed.

Now Joan Sydney (Matron Sloane) – something in my latter adult years made her Matron Sloan character uber sexy to me 🙂

I think Frank and Shirley inherited Fatso after Simon and Vicki moved away to the US (since Shirley was Vicki’s mum). So… everybody’s right!

Oh yeah, that was sad.

No, it was Shirley and Frank Gilroy who had Fatso.

Oh I think you will find it was Doctor Simon Bowen who had Fatso after he hit him with his car.

Of course this gave Simon every opportunity to see more of Vicky, but after she nursed Fatso back to health Simon was never able to release him into the wild.

Now….what about when Molly died?

No, it was Shirley and Frank Gilroy who had Fatso.

I wish Rudd had given money to the RSPCA, rather than all the greedy, grabbing hands that he’s been dishing the surplus out to lately.

Me too. I don’t mind my taxes going to struggling pensioners, but oh here we go again! “Working Families”. I’d like the portion of my taxes taht are being shovelled to “working families” to go spend in Big W and Domayne to be given instead to the RSPCA.

And the portion they’re bailing out ABC Childcare with, too. Are they going to bail out every bust company? No, didn’t think so.

Give it to the RSPCA.

Thus the beauty of tax cuts. You COULD give it to the RSPCA….and get a tax deduction on top of that which means more money could go the RSPCA.

Here is my contribution………To satisfy the above tax payers, I have donated from my tax payer funded income. $32 for a good cause.

Cute as they are… you would want one as a pet because…..? Your yard doesn’t have a burrow already?

their little toes look like fingers, just with great big claws on them, so cute

Can I keep one as a pet like in A Country Practice?

Oh, and I forgot to add – childcare centres that have been dodgily run and have gotten themselves into a great deal of trouble financially.

And I have never met a wombat I didn’t like.

“I’m guessing this is your cue to provide money or help.”

So RA provides, a call for less tax, welfare bashing and recipes. How cute 🙂

This is disgraceful on the part of RiotACT; I thought wombats were vermin who did horrible damage to your car and caused a nuisance to vegetable plots. After seeing that picture I just want to give him a cuddle. It’s nothing to be proud of you know!

I wish Rudd would lower taxes so that people can put money to the causes they believe in, whether that be Doctors Without Borders (my personal favourite), the RSPCA, or the local supermarket.

As opposed to the greedy, cheating, cheap, whining tax payers, he took the money from.

RSPCA is a good place to volunteer some time too.

Wombat veal … yum.
