Just got home from an awesome night at the Basement in Belconnen. It had been some time since I was there last and things have certainly changed!

The first thing I noticed was that the place was completely packed! For a Thursday night in Belco I was expecting a fairly quiet night.

and the fact that it was packed with fine, fine young ladies (How do the pop-punk guys get em?) was an added bonus!

Yep. Totally.

“Completely packed” might be overstating it just a touch, though. But a great turnout for a Thursday night regardless.

I’d recommend playing there Thumper, awesome stage. Just make sure you advertise yourself, it’s always a toss-up between being full and empty on any given night.

Umm…I was buying them for $4 a pop, pretty reasonable price for anywhere.

The music was shit though, but hey, what was anyone expecting on a pop-punk/emo/core/crap night? I was just there to catch up with my mates and have a good time – and the fact that it was packed with fine, fine young ladies (How do the pop-punk guys get em?) was an added bonus!

…yes… and? Just saying “Hey, come down the Basement, IT’S PACKED!” doesn’t do it for me.

Q: The music that was playing –
a) woke the dead… in a parallel dimension.
b) put ice-addicts to sleep.
c) was mildly entertaining, but equally embarrassing.

Q: The bar prices were –
a) as affordable as using a Helicopter to commute.
b) as expensive as a trip to Uranus.
c) as moderately priced as a medium-sized European country.
($5.80 for a beer? Get off the grass!)

Considering they were initially suggesting they would take up where Tilleys left off, I’ve been severely disappointed so far.
