A 53-year-old Melba woman was arrested yesterday (Monday, January 9) after biting a police officer who pulled her over for a traffic stop.
About noon, the police officer identified the woman not wearing a seat belt while driving a white Mazda 626 on Childers Street in Acton.
The woman became belligerent and uncooperative toward police when requested to produce her licence. She refused to provide her details to the officer and continued to verbally abuse him. The woman exited her car and began to walk away.
As the officer went to place the woman under arrest she has assaulted the member by punching him repeatedly to the chest. The officer was bitten on the forearm as he restrained the woman.
The woman was arrested and taken to the ACT Watch House where she was charged with failing to wear a seat belt, providing a false name and causing harm to a Commonwealth public official.
She was given Watch House bail and will be summonsed to attend the ACT Magistrates Court at a later date.
I saw what I think was the end of this incident, and the woman seemed to be quite disturbed. The police officers who were present at the time were behaving very professionally and using minimal force to restrain the woman. I presume that they didn’t later assault her as some of the desk-bound vigilantes here seem to think they should have… I hope that the cop who was punched and bitten is OK.

Don’t you mean ‘the HIV’?

Yes – HIV is the virus I’m talking about.
I always assumed those “Watchout – This Bitch Bites” stickers were a joke.

So the acronym HIV gets a definite article these days?
“causing harm to a Commonwealth public official.” is piss-weak.
Biting somebody isn’t just a serious assault, but as it has the potential to transfer the HIV, it could well be an attempted murder. She needs a good hosing-down with the fire hose. Are they still allowed to do that?
Any relation to the pregnant woman found biting a security guard in Woden?
Did she pay her parking fee before she left?
Its a shame they didn’t just spray her, a slow walk to the police station with pepper sprayed eyes might be a sufficient lesson.
I blame the parents.
53 yo woman ?? Middle of the day ??
WTF is wrong with baby-boomers these days ?
Mmm, bacon. Nom nom nom.
Menopause turns women into monsters. LOL
