The crickets tonight!

The crickets are going mental tonight.

A friend has recorded them at 88 decibels, the same as a motorbike.

Above is a little something to confuse them in the form of a recording I made.

Below is my own recording of 91.

According to Yahoo that’s equivalent to:

a police whistle, heavy traffic, truck traffic, noisy home appliances subway-rail train, pneumatic drill [or hammer] at one meter, walk-man ear phone [average volume], rock drill at 100 feet, some motorcycles at 25 feet, shouted conversation.

ridiculous amount of pesky green insects flying around too til the rain chased them away.

And what sort of person confuses crickets for a hobby?

11 professionals currently in India seem to have confused cricket for a hobby.

Lol

That’s quite the spin you’ve thrown into the equation!

Lol

Tinnitus does wonders for drowning out the crickets.

Sorry, did you say something?

My brother’s son has aspergers and when once asked by a family friend if he liked cricket replied, ‘hmmm, cricket…, would that be the animal, or the game?’ He was five.

And he’s a noisy little bugger too. I’m sure he’d top 91 db easy.

What? Write louder.

But really, they don’t seem to be as noisy around our house.

I think the mozzies ate them all here in Cooma.

They’ve got nothing on Harleys which have a limit of 100db which is almost exactly double the volume of 91db

I did not even notice them until I read this post, but yeah noisy son o bitches now you mention it.
Maybe to do with all the rain last couple nights,

Who knows what they’re upto.. They’re mighty suspicious, you walk upto them and they go all quiet.
