smoking green deathstar

Notdingers has sent in this pic of the ANU’s terrifying solar array cooking something that’s smoking vile green this morning.

Let’s hope for the sake of those on Parkes Way that it’s nothing too toxic.

UPDATE: Apologies, the green is the tint from Notdingers’ car window.

looks very cool. AFAIK this is just a water boiler that uses steam pressure to generate electricity. Someone can correct me if i’m wrong though.

That was my understanding too, a solar thermal system. I’ve never seen them operating it before.

In the ANU’s defence the green is from the windshield tinting, I had a truck behind me so couldn’t stop to get a better shot.

The smoke was white 🙂 but vile green sounds way cooler

Surely the blue-green tinge is from the tinting of the car-window through which the photo was taken. Presumably the actual smoke was white-ish.

It’s advertising tonight’s showing of Gasland at the CSIRO 🙂
