Witnesses are being sought by police after a 15-year-old youth was robbed of his bicycle while cycling in Isabella Plains on Saturday afternoon (July 30).

Around 3.30pm the 15-year-old victim was riding his bicycle along Ellerston Avenue in Isabella Plains when he was approached by a teenager near the Groveland Crescent intersection. The offender grabbed the handle bars of the victim’s bicycle pulling them away from the victim. The offender told the victim to get off the bicycle to which the victim complied. The offender then rode off on the victim’s bicycle along Ellerston Avenue, towards Monash.

The victim’s bicycle is described as having white handle bars, purple rims and white forks.

The offender is described as aged in his late teens, about 180cm (5’11”) tall with short brown hair. He was wearing a brown coloured hooded jumper and grey coloured pants.

A dark grey Commodore with three occupants came to the assistance of the victim but left the scene before police could speak to them.

Police urge the occupants of the grey Commodore or any other person who may have witnessed the incident to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or report via the Crime Stoppers website on www.act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.

Woah, hang on. A Commodore with 3 occupants came to the aid of someone in Tuggeranong?! Has the world gone topsy turvy?!

My thoughts precisely, perhaps the victim had nothing left to steal so they left?

Foggy-brained are you? (going by the user name) Are we looking out for a bmx, roadie, mtb, generic old no-brand clunker … ?

Remember that it is dark grey, not white.

I don’t know. Leaving the scene before police can speak to them sounds pretty normal for a Commodore
😉

It sounds to me like a bmx bike rather than a mountain/roadie.

Is “white handle bars, purple rims and white forks” the best description they could get? That would to cover several hundred bikes across Canberra already.
