Once again Fastway=Noway=Noidea has got my dander up. Cannot track online, they simply don’t update, cannot ring them , the phone is off the hook.As for the 1300 number it is in the Phillipines, as someone who worked for many years as a courier ,both city and regional NSW/ACT I cannot understand how this company stays in business, when did it start taking 39 hours by truck from the Sydney depot to the Canberra depot (which by the way is just down the road at Hume) not even in the 70’s when the Hume highway was at it’s worst did it take that long. I refuse to walk down the hill to their depot to pick up a parcel, I pay for them to deliver not delay. It’s a shame that the companies that use them for deliveries to Canberra can’t see these reviews , they just might go to Australia Post.

So just like Swift and Shift then.

Cant get hold of the Canberra Depot by phone or email?

Ring this guy:

“Your friendly courier expert “

Poor schmuck doesnt know his details are on the Fastway website. He does the deliveries and pick ups in Canberra.

I thought I was the only one ! Fastway had a very basic delivery to make to me recently. Total f**kup. I couldn’t even get onto anyone at the depot to find out what was going on.

I am writing to their head office to pass on my thoughts.

Wow…these stories are incredible. I am awaiting a delivery of cutlery…I am now pinning the initial loss and new delays on Fastway (whether they had anything to do with it or not). 😛 Gives a face to my irritation.

It does say something that the delivery was taking so long that a tow truck had time to be called, arrive, load up the van, and depart. Most couriers I know even speak quickly to get the deliveries done faster.

They are hopeless and lose stuff all the time. Reminds me of swift& shift

I’ve been subject to Fastway f**kup’s twice. First time I had a mobile phone repaired in Sydney, the repairer returned my phone via Fastway overnight superdooper express… Two days later, the tracking showed it had been sent to Brisbane When I kicked up a stink because I needed my phone back they told me it had been “lost”. The repairer sorted something out with freight insurance and sent me a brand new phone (via Registered Post) and many apologies. About a week later, I ran into my neighbour who remembered he had a package left on his doorstep (while he was at work, unsigned, just dumped on the doorstep), addressed to me. Guess where my phone was?

Second time, a supplier sent a package to me from Sydney, tracking showed it had gone to Melbourne. I called the Canberra franchise and was fobbed off multiple times until I was told it would take a week to be sorted out in Melbourne and sent to me. I somehow got in contact with their head office (I think I called up to enquire about opening a franchise and managed to get some sort of area manager). I explained my story and how unhappy I was with the “service” that would have me waiting a week due to their mistake, for something Australia Post could do overnight (Express Post). I received a callback in the afternoon telling me to expect it the next morning. I had it on my desk by 10am along with an email apology from the lovely lady at head office + an apology from the bloke running the Canberra depot over the phone when he confirmed delivery about 5 minutes after the package arrived.

I will no longer deal with shops/suppliers that use Fastway.

When I was actively in business (about 4 or 5 years ago), I bought stickers/coupons and still have some left which I use (try to use) from time-to-time. At first they provided a good service. Things are different now. I have been waiting for a parcel pickup since 20 December (yes, December 2013). I have phoned (from my phone log) 24 times and 6 emails to the Canberra office regarding this. Yesterday, that parcel was finally collected late in the afternoon. That’s 26 days.

I’m amazed you got them to pick up the phone. I sure has heck couldn’t after calling on and off for 3 days.

Whenever I purchase anything online now I include a standard note advising the seller / company that I no longer accept deliveries from Fastway and that they should either send the item via another courier company or cancel the order. I refuse to deal with that company anymore.

Ah Fastway. One of my suppliers ‘lost’ four different Fastway shipments during December, including one I needed by Christmas. Australia Post rate changes created a bit of an opportunity for other providers to step in last year. As of earlier this month, my replacement shipment (sans one item) managed to arrive, with the original still showing in their system as ‘in transit’.

I have only had Thugs ‘n Thieves on my courier blacklist, but looks like I’ll be adding Fastway.

This morning I received an email from the Canberra office (from someone named Asik) stating:

‘Hi,

OK so you want to send the Parcel from Garran. I will send the driver to Pick up the Parcel but if the Labels are old then you need to buy the New Labels to send the Parcel.I will send the driver today he can help you.

Kind regards,

No apologies. Just bald statements. This has been embarrassing for me to be associated with such inept service and puts me in a bad light when I cannot deliver a parcel for nearly 4 weeks. It was not urgent – if it was I would have taken alternative measures long ago. I just thought I would hold on & see how long it takes and use some of my credit.

So I have well over $300 worth of stickers and am now told they will not be honoured. I’m taking this higher, but doubt anything will come of it. It’s extremely difficult to locate any central office phone contact. It seems head office does not want to know about how bad they are doing in the franchises.

So use Fastway at your peril.

With all the reports of missing packages, it sounds like Failway are the equivalent of Swift and Shift Couriers, but without the comedy.

Exactly. I’ve been waiting for my package from craftbrewer for over a week now.
Fastway seem to have misplaced it.
It’s an important package. I have beer to make.

Knuckles, I feel your pain. Anything in particular? I’ve got a bit of grain, hops and yeast kicking around, and I promise not to use Failway. 🙂

When I worked for a previous employer, we seemed to be continuously chasing down Failway to find deliveries. We’d get a myriad of excuses, like:
– The sender didn’t have the package ready, so it couldn’t be picked up. Luckily, our sender used to email the despatch receipt to us.
– The despatch advice was incorrectly addressed, so it went to the wrong place. Again, love those receipts.
– We tried to deliver to the office just after 5, but no one was there. Unfortunately, our office was staffed until 10pm, usually by me.

For a while, one of our managers would drive out to Failway just to give them the death stare.

I too told them to shove their service after classic sold up. The dumbass running it really needs a lesson in business, he thought he was doing me a favour by honouring the vouchers I had purchased before the sale…without any additional charges.

I noticed that when I went on the Fastway website to send another email there was a banner stating they had numerous franchise opportunities available in Canberra. Every franchise area in Canberra has been put up for sale.

Classic Couriers in Queanbeyan had previously ran Fastaway Canberra/Queanbeyan. But they only sold it in the last quarter of 2012.

Back under that old arrangement, Classic would sometimes deliver for Fastaway & vice versa. Now they have been sold, they both have lost a few contracts with our suppliers.

I don’t know whether head office got sick of the bloke running the Canberra depot and asked him to move on or whether he realised he wasn’t up to the task of running a courier service and decided to get out, but hopefully their service will improve with new management in Canberra.

In six years or so of buying online, Fastway were the first courier company to ‘lose’ an item during transport – a $300 item too.

Does Wicked Campers supply their vans?
