Minister for the Arts (and much else besides) Joy Burch has announced the end to one of Canberra’s more charming traditions, the rush of disheveled artists getting their grant applications in at the last minute.

“As part of the implementation of the Loxton Review into the Arts in the ACT, this year applications will be accepted online, making it easier than ever to apply.”

Ms Burch encouraged applicants to attend an artsACT information session which will outline types of funding available and provide advice on preparing a competitive application. It will be held at the Theo Notaras Multicultural Centre, 2nd floor North Building, Civic Square on Wednesday 11 April 2012 from 6.00 – 7.30pm.

Applications close on Monday 21 May 2012. Information for applicants and application forms are available from www.arts.act.gov.au.
