The Liberals’ Alistair Coe is burnishing his chainsaw credentials with demands that more be done to lop down old trees around Canberra:

The ACT Labor Government has had a year to remove 900 dangerous trees across Canberra, but has only removed 100 so far. ACT Shadow Urban Services Minister Alistair Coe said today that ACT Labor has delayed this important local service to the point that 800 trees now need to be removed by the end of the financial year.

“I have received representations from concerned residents who have been waiting almost a year to have dangerous trees removed,” Mr Coe said.

“For example, a dangerous tree in a Nichols park should be prioritised for removal, but the government has instead left it to last minute.

“The Territory and Municipal Services Department now has a massive job on its hands by removing 800 trees by the end of the financial year, instead of progressively removing them over the past year.

in the 21st century The Territory and Municipal Services Department can only remove 1 tree every 3 days. That’s disgusting and pure laziness no wonder we are going broke

Best to knock down all the trees, just in case they’re thinking of becoming dangerous. Everything must be SAFE.

Alistair, fetch the stick, boy – fetch!

Get fair work australia on to it

Trees are harder to catch than kangeroo’s they tend to jump around alot.
