The ABC brings word that the Greenpeace activists who took the the CSIRO’s wheat crop will face the Magistrate’s court next month:

Two Greenpeace members will face the ACT Magistrates Court early next month over the destruction of a CSIRO genetically modified wheat crop.

A spokeswoman for Greenpeace has confirmed the 34 and 47-year-old women will face court on December 6 on charges of trespass and property damage.

But will they express remorse?

I’m just wondering if the (the accused) thoroughly cleaned their equipment, clothing and boots before they left the compound and the area so as not to spread any possible GM crop residue outside. If not, then the exercise defeats the purpose, dose it not?

No, I don’t believe that they did clean down their gear before they left. Unfortunately, Greenpeace activists seem to be more interested in style than substance.

The beak has already told these eco-terrorists that they will not serve a custodial sentence.

They are due to be sentenced next week. She didnt want to stress the poor pregnant eco-terrorist. They both deserve to be behind bars.

(Bare with me).

1. Spread a rumour at your local Greenpeace meeting that chicks can get pregnant from airbourne GM seeds.
2. Write an article to “Friends of the Earth” website claiming the anti-Green-christ will be borne in the ACT of wheat/humanoid origin.
3. Rub up to some Communist organisations claiming that the Corporatist pigs in the USA have impregnated the women with a super-capitalist overlord to rule us all.

With a little encouragment, the situation will take care of itself.

OK, my clothes are off. What now?

Heaven protect us from the ideologically pure. On both sides of the political spectrum and in the field of religion the ideologically or doctrinally pure are so damn sure they are right they lose all sense of reason and judgement. The Taliban, Greenpeace, the HR Nicholls society – all birds of a feather.

Although these two will presumably be brought up on charges by the Greenpeace internal order and secret carbon police for wilfully getting jiggy with what looks to be petrol powered whipper-snippers.

Such paragons of virtue really should have been using electrical whipper-snippers connected to a solar powered generator.

I hope the CSIRO sues these pieces of filth to recover damages.

What has a pregnancy got to do with this?

Surely the PhD students who lost two or three years’ work can sue them for damages?

Absolutely, criminals should be in gaol.

These people are pathetic morons. There really are no words to describe the stupidity of their actions. I hope they get a goodly amount of community service or something similar.

If they are, then I’m surprised they haven’t posted in this thread.

If they are what?

Community service where they have to replant the next crop.

I bet it will be a slap on the wrist and no conviction recorded.

Just like the idiots who vandalised the Opera House, it is OK because they trooly, rooly believed that they were saving the planet. Apparently that justifies just about anything.

Death penalty or life in prison with no parole. The government should then bring in laws introducing mandatory life sentences or execution for anybody who votes for The Greens or expresses green/left views.

I bet 10 hours community service and a slap on the wrist.

I understand caring for the environment as it is important to us all. But what do these “do-gooders” suggest is a better way to feed an over-paced, ever-growing human population??? I think the best way to tackle what you regard as a “problem” is to suggest perhaps a “solution” to maybe combat this with those involved, not to be a sneak and break the law, destroying what very well may be one of the only things feeding them come ten years.

Google “Agenda 21”, it’s a better solution than mortgaging our futures to Monsanto

My bet they’ll be let off as having expressed their freedom of speech, and / or, having a ‘well founded’ fear of GM and whipping it was a legitimate response.

They’ll probably be charged under the GM Act. http://tinyurl.com/7tl98mx

You’re right, the abc reporter specifically mentions it.

If im reading it right, (pg ~32) the penalty (aggravated) is imprisonment for 5 years or 2,000 penalty units. Plus the trespass and property damages.

I still think they’ll get a warning. 🙁

I say we let wheat farmers use whipper snippers on the two greenpeace women. suitable punishment imo.

Likely outcome: 1 month good behaviour, $30 fine for court costs.

If they turn up dressed appropriately and act respectfully towards the magistrate, they won’t even get that.

How would they like it if we took a whipper snipper to their dope plantations!

Charge them with committing an act of Bio-terrorism against the Commonwealth, tresspass and destruction of public property.

Death penalty!
