Just a quick note to RAer’s that may not be aware of an interesting seminar to be held this weekend by the Kenja Trust titled “Guilty until proven innocent”. It’s about their late founder Ken Dyers, a decorated WW2 vet, his colorful life and his battles with the legal system to have his communications centers recognized which have helped thousands of people over the decades. I attended one of their seminars last year and can highly recommend them as being high quality, informative and above all entertaining. It’s being held this Saturday 5th July at the National Art Gallery starting at 7pm, what else have you planned for this Saturday night. Details and online booking can be done here: http://www.kenja.com.au/Home/EventSchedule/PublicLectures2008/tabid/140/Default.aspxInocent until proven guilty

i was reading this stuff about this kenja crap and i recognized my own grandparents names on the list of memebers. i asked my mum about it and she said that kenja was the reason we no longer speak to them!!
apparently when my mum was a child they used to make her do things she did NOT want to do, like, calling up her friends and telling them that she couldnt be friends with them anymore. unsurprisingly, a week after this particular incident, my mum moved out of home.
kenja is a CULT!

I’m sure I’ve seen this group a while back selling raffle tickets and donuts at the shopping centers, they looked like some school sporting association doing some fund raising. I guess that’s the perfect ruse, no one bothers to asks them who they are when they’re buying something off them and I doubt the members would come clean on their shady background anyway. A work mate who works casually at Bunnings Fyshwick told me they also occasionally setup out the front selling snags on the weekends. I’ll keep this in mind next time I see them, no way I’m going to help fund this type of group.

Hi Bundah_Bloke,

I’m actually doing a story on Kenja and Bunnings and as it was Bunning’s slip-up, they’re not giving me any information. If you get this could you email me on jlax87@gmail.com as I’d like to find out when Kenja did the BBQ in Fyshwich and how many times your friend saw this.

Thanks so much, I hope you read this in time!

Regards,
Jess

woohoo, asking a cult member to question a Guru is not part of the program, hence the term ‘follower’. members are frowned upon if they attempt to peer behind the scenery.
The ‘infallibility’ of the Guru can become a little ordinary. this poor bugger seemed to have gotten himself in a right mess., no doubt he spent most days patching up holes in his ‘stories’. he would have gotten good at it over 30 odd years of consistent storytelling. how big are their noses? A combat veteran attached to British intelligence who was really just a military policeman. A Director of Public Companies who cannot support his statements with documentation. thier biggest story seems to be pretending they are not related to Scientology. perhaps in Australia you could get away with it, but in Canada, where thier documentary ‘Beyond our Ken’ aired, they were picked out straight away by a more astute audience, familiar with Scientologies philosophies and jargon. the ‘big conspiracy’ seems a little convenient too, a big american organisation has paid off judges and magistrates, policeman and the DPP to put away the ‘greatest hope’ for the planet, or on the other hand seven young women have alleged multiple counts of pedophilia as sworn under oath. see ‘womans fake beard was bogus’ daily telegraph, june 26th.

Dear DancingQueen,

I’m not sure exactly who you are, but I’m sure if we knew each other’s real names we would know each other.
As a former Kenja attendee, I am fascinated by the gullibility of us all that believed Ken and Jan’s stories to explain away all the abuse allegations of the past.
What is that makes you so sure that Ken was innocent and not seek out the other side of the story?
It was only once I heard first-hand exactly what he had been doing to young girls during sessions that it became “real” to me!
I don’t know if you are one of the “core” people who have been in on the secret all along and therefore are sure not to listen to anything I have to say, or whether you are a relative new-comer like I was.
In any case you owe it to yourself to cease wasting your life and start questioning.

double posting again, sorry

anyone been to the National Gallery of Victoria? when did victoria become its own country?

whoops, i meant I don’t drink or take drugs….

not any more, at least.

the RiotACT get together on the southside is a great idea, but as I don’t drink (my liver and kidneys have warned me that if I do, it is back to the yellow skin and eyes) what can i offer?

maybe I had better find a cult that will accept me…. Freak that I am.

meh, I dont follow a religion and certainly not the Kenja one

I think people should bear in mind that once upon a time Christianity would have been considered a cult and by in large Jesus would have been considered a nutter according to most popular opinion of the time. Pretty much in the same fashion that most of us view Kenja or Scientology now. I would also not be surprised that in the early days of more wide spread religions like christianity/islam/budhism etc that followers of the popular faiths of the day derided these smaller cults much in the same way that many have here.

sorry, second post – just had to add that the inquisition was a christian idea, albeit not a very good one.

the crusades, again, christian, equally bad idea.

regardless of where these cults spring from, they are all based on common fundamental rules and teachings. the problem is that the leader is usually someone who feels that they have been shown the light and must preach to convert, not accept other religions.

I am a christian, I don’t care what religion anyone else is, IT IS NOT ANY OF MY BUSINESS!!

I also meditate, using crystals, but they are a focus point, not actually doing much apart from staring at them….

if you think that you should attack me because I am a new age crystal meditating non drinking / drug taking christian, go ahead.

I enjoy good arguments….

what’s wrong with hockey?

any sport where they give you boots and a weapon is OK in my books…..

some of the female hockey players i knew when i was younger were really scary, not just because they were big girls… (insert chinese swim team image here)

and I wasn’t penalised for thumping the ball at crotch height back up the field….
amazing how well some guys leap out of the way, ahhh fullback position – the best spot on the field for action….

goalie used to go to sleep in the goals. mad bugger.

reminiscing stops now, the Kenja people shouldn’t post here if they think that they will be agreed with. This is a public forum. we have views that differ. set up a kenja forum for members yourselves, at least you won’t hear any complaints….

Personally, I’ve only ever trusted cults that have an ABN.

Jesus and Buddha didn’t take anybody’s money, lie about their military record, rape kiddies or top themselves.

All well, but the pedophilia? This thing sounds more like one mans private kingdom, under the guise of a corporate spiritual ballroom dancing sporting barbeque sex club. Something for everyone, but nothing, probably, for most. I dont think we can brush serious crime under the ‘kooky is ok’ carpet. The police charged the evolved being with serious criminal charges, 22 of them, and there were more to come. The newspapers tell us they were committed to trial, and a hearing date was to be set. In the meantime, the guy shot himself in the head. And now the military policeman, private Dyers, who has become a decorated comabt veteran along the way, in civvy life, is being honored by his acolytes.
Christianity survived the bloody battles which were waged between competing cults as the Roman Empire colapsed around them. But none were so bloody as those waged between competing christian cults. They were asked to stop ‘bickering’ by Constantine. the battles were political power plays (reasonably honorable), not what seems to be simple matters of sexual harrasment by an old man in a position of trust and power (dishonorable).

And… if Jesus had lived and been executed for his beliefs today, in 2000 years time people would be wearing little syringes or electric chairs on chains around their necks!

#52, Probably not tickboom, as amusing as you find it.

#51, thanks clownkiller. a considered reasonable response. kudos to you.

The Kenja basketball team that Che and I used to play against were always good fun. Although far from the best team we have ever played I can say that at least they played the game with a spirit that was very admirable. Very similar to Ant’s experience in hockey i expect.

“You’re all a bunch of fuckwits, go back to your soulless, worthless, useless lives.”

I think it goes without saying that this should immediately be added to the RiotACT list of ‘quotable quotes’.

Clown Killer8:07 am 03 Jul 08

…go back to your soulless, worthless, useless lives. Actually it’s a good thing that your type aren’t involved with them, some people are beyond help.

I guess that’s the thing with bizarre cults like this. You seem to feel the need to try and differentiate yourself from the rest of society with the assumption that what you’re doing will provide you with a soulful, worthy and useful life. Perhaps the truth is a little more awkward. From where I sit, it sure looks to me like you’re the one looking for those things, and that by logical extension you life is devoid of these qualities at present.

I, on the other hand, am not looking for salvation, soul, worth or usefulness. My family, my friends, my work give me everything I need and to be honest a lot more than I probably deserve.

Yeah, at $65 a head, the Kenjologists will be p!ssing themselves; big fun!

Why do you reckon it’s $65 for adults in Canberra and $25 everywhere else?

I know! We can have RiotAct Drinkies at a pub near the Kenja venue (RUC?), then adjourn to the Kenja event. That could be fun.

Funniest Thread in ages. Thanks for the laughs everybody (except Dancing Queen – who has not a funny bone in her apparently soulful, worthy and useful body).

Ah, Kenja. Years ago, they used to enter a womens’ hockey team, called The Kenja Bossanovas (no I’m not making this up). They had special chants and cries as they marched on, and we loved playing them. Everyone loved playing them, as it was a chance to get one’s goal average right up. It was usually in double figures, I don’t think they ever scored any.

One saturday, they didn’t have enough players to run on, so we loaned them our reserves. for the first time, Kenja posted some goals! But then some Kenja head honcho came and told them they could not have non-Kenja players on their team. and since they didn’t have 6 players, they had to forfeit the match, so their goals didn’t count.

Woody Mann-Caruso6:36 pm 02 Jul 08

Guess they got to Jazz after all.

The Kenja basketball team were always good to play, an easy 20-30 point win.

If you feel the need to join a cult, give Crossfit a try, 18 months in and loving it.

Dear Dancing Queen

Peace be upon you

If Kenja doesn’t work out you could try the Exclusive Brethren or the Scientologists.

Is the Guru Maharaj Ji still operating ?

It’s obvious that the Kenja ‘therapy’ isn’t working for DancingQueen.

And Ewe.

So DancingQueen, regret adding your post to RA? I guess it was a shock that so many people have pointed out the truth to you (some in more detail than others). Myself I found it to be intersting – people finally displaying an ability to research a topic instead of just left or right way out opinions. Thanks for bringing us together against a common cause!

If the best reply you can come up with is abuse I think it might be time to move back inside the deep dark closet.

I wonder if that’s a direct lift from the teachings of these Kenjis. Tough love, but efficient energy conversion. Or, to quote, “Its purpose is to increase understanding of the spirit and its relation to the human spirit, coupled with practical training in the basics of effective communication..”

You can’t get more basic than calling people a bunch of funkwits! Shalom.

Oh so your group are open to public scrutiny and accept criticism then?! I was going to attend because the poster look professionally done and serious (do you get to wear cool uniforms and give each other wonderful titles?). I was going to attend as I haven’t been to the theater in such a long time but I’m not coming now you said that….

From the Kenja website:

“Together, these elements encourage positive personal growth and the opportunity for enhanced spiritual understanding in a physical world.”

From the above Kenja practitioner:

“You’re all a bunch of fuckwits, go back to your soulless, worthless, useless lives. Actually it’s a good thing that your type aren’t involved with them, some people are beyond help.”

Great stuff.

My life might be soul-less and worthless in your eyes, but at least I don’t worship a liar, scam artist and kiddly fiddler.

Oh, bugger the children!

VG – excellent research – love how the ‘followers’ all come armed with their own ‘talking points’.

So Dancing Queen – handed over any of your children? Or just all your money?

Thankfully the only names I recognise on the list are the losers who invited myself and a friend to an “information night” at Braddon way back in the early 90s. I too had NFI what they were talking about.

Unfortunately said losers were work associates in the public circus and had ready access to me and my email to continue extending further invitations bordering on harrassment until I told them in no uncertain terms where to go.

I prefer the Freemasons at least they are clear about what they do

“This lodge practices the “arts and hidden mysteries of Freemasonry”.

-It one of the various lodges in Canberra, the national Capital city of Australia”

and they have a cool handshake and aprons.

Decorated WWII veteran? Wikipedia says differently:

Dyers was a Military Policeman with 9th Div Provost Coy from his arrival in the Middle East 25/9/41 until he embarked for Sydney on the 27/1/43. Mr Dyers served again as a Military Policeman in the 9th Div Provost Coy from 30/7/43 until his return to Sydney 23/3/44. His record details a chequered career and a large amount of time in field hospitals and Casualty Clearing Stations. Dyers served in the 32 Works Coy in Australia until he was discharged. He was court-martialled three times. In late 1943 he was in jail for five days awaiting trial on three charges, and eventually convicted of “conduct prejudice to the good order and military discipline”. In June 1944 he went AWL for 16 days. In April 1945 he was fined for leaving his sentry post and in July fined again for misconduct. It also refers to an assessment of his “mental instability” which is rated at 10 per cent on the day he was demobbed in August 1946

A meathead with a penchant for going AWL and malingering? I guess having the Africa Star could count as being decorated…

We never went west to Gezira
We never went north to the Nile,
We never went past the Pyramids,
Out of sight of the Sphinx’s smile,
We fought the war in Shepheard’s and the Continental Bar,
We reserved our punch for the Turf Club Lunch,
And they gave us the Africa Star.

Hullo all, couldn’t resist.

Somehow his biography and reports of Dyers life seem to omit the below:

“In 1993 Dyers was charged with 11 counts of sexual offences against two girls and two sisters of one of the girls, who were between the ages of eight and 15. After several trials and appeals, which lasted almost a decade, Dyers was found not guilty of 10 of the charges. He was found guilty of one charge (tried separately) and jailed at Long Bay Correctional Centre for six days before being released on bail. An appeal in 2000 failed, and in 2002 the charge was overturned in the High Court of Australia on the grounds that the trial judge had potentially misdirected the trial, though two of the five judges said that the “contention of the appellant that the evidence led at his trial should have left the jury with a reasonable doubt as to his guilt… should be rejected.” The judges in concluding ordered a retrial. One argued that the appeal be dismissed, while one said a retrial should not be ordered due to several circumstances of the case, which included “the age of the appellant and his medical condition” and “the absence of any challenge by the prosecutor”.[8]

On 28 October 2005, Dyers was charged in Sutherland Local Court with the sexual assault of two 12-year old girls, alleged to have taken place at the Kenja’s Surry Hills headquarters in 2001-2002. Dyers was released on bail under the conditions that he attends Sutherland Police Station weekly and does not attend Kenja premises or events.[9] Dyers applied for a “permanent stay” in his current court case on the grounds of ill health.

Dyers denied he was guilty of the charges against him, saying that they are a result of former members trying to destroy him as part of a witch-hunt.[10] His lawyer, Harland Koops of Henry Davis York Lawyers, makes the defence that 13 year old girls “know how to say no, they get educated in school”[11] and that “there will be contrary medical evidence indicating that Mr Dyers has had erectile dysfunction for almost 15 years”.[12]

Mr Dyers shot himself in the head bringing his life to an end on the 25th of July 2007. [13] Mr Dyers had been called by the NSW Police with fresh allegations of sexual misconduct. Mr Dyers application for a ‘permanent stay on the grounds of ill health’ had not been granted. He was, however, granted a twelve month stay on the grounds of mental health.

Sydney Morning Herald journalist Robert Wainright referred to Mr Dyers War Time biography as exposing a ‘Walter Mitty Complex’, in his article examining the inconsistencies between Mr Dyers claims and verifiable records.”

A penchant for malingering, AWL and apparently other predelictions as well.

Dancing Queen might also want to be a bit more original with her quotes as well. From the SMH report of Dyers’ court appearance in 2005:

“Asked today if the Kenja group was a cult, Dyers replied: “Is football a cult?”.”

He was a ripper of a man, have a look here:

Cornelia Rau was apparently right as rain before she got involved with this mob. Pack of scam artists

I’ve been to one of these before and met Ken Dyers (thats what happens when you come late and sit in the front row) who i thought to be an interesting character. I don’t necessarily agree with his philosophies although recognise that there are common messages in his teachings with a lot of other mainstream religions (as scarey as that sounds)

I’ve also worked with people who are members of the sect/cult/following or whatever you want to call it and for the main they are very genuine and caring people.

I too was a decorated WWII veteran in a past life.

Let me tell you that Stalingrad was hell!

Ah ha I see, it’s all a conspiracy isn’t it DancingQueen, they’re out to get you aren’t they? Why don’t you do a Google search on these weirdo’s, here’s what I came up with in just 5 minutes:

Bailed cult leader ordered away from HQ

Man fronts court over multiple sex offence charges

Cult leader to stand trial on sex charges
http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2006/05/26/1648146.htm

Dyers wife, Jan Hamilton, seems to be as nutty as he was, just read this:

Cult member ‘wore fake beard’ at bogus audition
http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au/story/0,25197,23924176-5006784,00.html

There’s even been a doco made about them called “Beyond our Ken”, you can watch a trailer of it here: http://www.beyondourken.com.au/ The promo for it is: “You wouldn’t know a cult if you joined one….….” Apparently they even flew some of their members to Toronto to disrupt the films premiere http://www.cifs.org.au/leaflets.php, now that’s weird.

DQ sounds like you may need some deprogramming help, there’s groups that do this for you, there’s no shame in it :).

There was an ad in the ShittyNews for this: “come to our indoctrination seminar, and pay us $65 for the privilege!”

Which is weird for a number of reasons. First, there was no indication of what this is actually about – just the same waffle that is on the picture above. Secondly, don’t most cults at least have the courtesy to brainwash you *before* they start asking you for your money? Not the other way around?

“Decorated World War 2 Vet” !!!!!

Wikipedia indicates that he was court martialled 3 times and assessed as being mentally unstable. He was also an ex scientology member & kiddy fiddler.

DANGER WILL ROBIONSON
LOONY ALERT LOONY ALERT

It must be tough running a cult these days, what with those pesky child protection laws with underage sex and polygamy being illegal.

Whats a cult leader supposed to do….

Isn’t it strange how only the faithful who are ever convinced of their innocence.

CULT ALERT! CULT ALERT!! ATTENTION all RAer’s beware this Kenja Trust is nothing but a front for a Scientology like cult. On their website they talk about enhancing ones “personal communications” at their “human communications Centers” but don’t be fooled by the seemingly innoxiously sounding name. They’re a nasty vicious bunch of lunatics who specialize in destroying people, have a read of this for starters: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kenja_Communication
On their website they state:

“Energy Conversion meditation is a way to permanently eliminate the suppressed emotion, thought or energy that can divert us from what we want to achieve.”

Need I say more, steer well clear of these nut cases. They even have an “office” at 45 Northbourne Ave.

A friend and I had the serious misfortune of attending an information evening for these people a few years ago. We sat through over 2 hours of pointless, mindless babbling by smiling, dead eyed puppets who did not make a single interesting or relevant statement the whole time. I still don’t have the slightest idea what they were on about and frankly was scared for my welfare the whole time. I refused to give up any details about myself despite some serious hounding from the large circle of suited disciples. I ran, not walked, from the Braddon offices and treated myself to a chemical shower just to feel clean again. It did not suprise me one bit to read of the allegations leveled against the group in the press and I consider myself lucky to have avoided genuine trouble. If you desperately need a cult experience I would suggest that you shop around as there are plenty of better options in Garema Place.

I’d go but I totally have this scientology meeting that I have to attend.

Sorry!
