At RugbyHeaven Growders is talking up Saturday night’s Wallabies game here in Canberra against Fiji.

In a rugby first the debutant opposing props are brothers. The Brumbies’ own Salesi Ma’afu for the Wallabies against his brother Campese Ma’afu (now there’s a real rugby family) for Fiji.

Apparently Ma’afus from far and wide are descending on our fair city to enjoy the spectacle.

I assume VirulentOne that you are suggesting there is a difference between Rugby representative rules and any other sport that makes the policies in Rugby laughable?

I’ll admit that Rugby is unlike the Olympics or league where people can represent different countries in the same sport. In Rugby once you are selected for a country then you can only represent that country.

I think you’ll also find there are more players of Pacific Island heritage in the All Blacks than there are Kiwis representing Island nations (perhaps the Islanders are looking for an easy payday).

Two brothers who both live in Australia (a country that allows dual citizenship), one playing for his country of residence, the other playing for his birth country, how ridiculous… (unlike your assertations of course).

Oh and while the truth of your allegations is being disputed, I think you’ll find the Rugby World Cup is the third biggest sporting event in the world, behind the Soccer World Cup and the Olympics.

Other than that a super post, I look forward to your next stroke of genius.

That’s actually pretty cool. Their mum must be happy to have both of them on national teams.

Always funny to see the international qualification rules of Union – two brothers playing for different countries, how ridiculous. Doubtless next year’s World Cup of the “world’s second biggest sporting event” will see all of the fake international teams filled with failed Kiwis and Springboks looking for an easy payday. Joke.
