The marijuana drought

Loadedog’s most entertaining correspondent, the anonymous suburban drug dealer, is complaining about and speculating on an interruption to the supply of ganja in the ACT which is wreaking havoc on the lives of suburban drug dealers and the users who depend on them.

Surely Jon Stanhope’s inclusion committee, or maybe his human rights commissioner, can do something about this tragedy??

yup felix, seems like the vic police have got a lot [more] to answer for – all that carbon being released back into the atmosphere when it was nicely tucked away in a plant that… was… going… to… be… burnt… any… way – o why bother!

this has been pretty standard practice since time immemorial – authorities burning things they don’t like: settlements, books, witches…

Soprt of off-topic a bit but I was watching the news the other night and they had a big Marijuana plantation bust (in Vic I think, not ACT) and it showed the cops ripping the plants out and throwing them on a bonfire. I was thinking this is a bit of an odd way of destroying it, we don’t really need any more air pollution (especially if it was Vic, with all the bushfires down that way at the moment) and that half the neighbourhood would get stoned for free – and probably a few cops too! Anyone else care to share their thoughts about this?

Then why have I been getting high for the last month with no problems.
I’m getting a little suspicious about this suburban drug dealer. A victim of the hard-on with a pen the cynic in me thinks. But then again, I’m a lazy-ass alco-stoner who knows shit about nothing.

Surely the stoners looking for a score can head to Havelock House?

In my day – my best mates mums hose slowly got shorter. She never understood why it could not get to the back of her yard anymore (Reid has huge back yards)

back in my day we only cut the end of the hose, and then put the fitting back on. goes to show that todays bong smokers have no respect.
too wasted on ice probably….

If it reduces the number of times that the local shitbags cut my garden hose in half to ‘tax’ a quick couple of inches for their orchy bongs then I’m all for it – that hose is out there for a purpose – to keep my garden green with a bit of illicit out of hours watering – not as a ‘invitation to treat’ for the neighbourhood stoners!

drugs are bad….mm…ok.
with rentals the way they are at the mo, not even the drug lords can afford to set up a decent hydro setup in this town any more. probably more gain from a legit rental pad these days….

time to take a trip to Nimbin

You do know that AustLII does not necessarily give a true indication of what may necessarily be the law in the ACT don’t you…?

The ONLY online authorised copies of ACT law are found at http://www.legislation.act.gov.au. It’s just plain stupid to rely upon AustLII is about when the real stuff is freely available.

In this case – the proper reference ought to have been to the link to the Act itself (http://www.legislation.act.gov.au/a/alt_a1989-11co/default.asp) and then refer the reader to section 162. You also get to see all the pretty formatting too.

[ED – Once again can you please learn to link, or put a few words of text before the URL?]

link to AUSTLII.

yup that sounds like it..

I actually had to check up about the having your own plants here in canberra this weekend, as I had a client who was trying to tell me it was legal and you could have 3 plants or less.
Not true.
This is what the cops told me:
It is still illegal to possess, cultivate and distribute marijuana and you can still get a criminal record from any of the above.
The only difference between ACT and other places is that if you have 2 plants or 25 grams or less it is up to the discretion of the police as to how they deal with you.
They can either:
1. order you into treatment
2. issue you with a simple cannibas fine
3. or charge you and summons you to court.

So it is still illegal.

it is only dicriminalised Maelinar.. basically if you have under a certain amount you won’t get a criminal record.. you will however cop a fine.. people often argue that I am wrong and that you can have plants.. but I have been on the wrong side of the law in my teens (post introduction of decriminalisation )and nothing teaches you the law by being on the wrong side of it and getting busted.

As far as canberra being dry I wouldn’t know.. but I suspect it is not true

Aren’t you allowed to grow your own (plant limited) in Canberra anyway ?

At least that’s what I have been told previously, as I’ve not had time to look it up on a legal basis I’ve always taken that as gospel.

*** DISCLAIMER ***
I don’t do drugs, nor am I growing them – I am merely applying what I have heard of Canberra.

I could not get decent vegies – so I grow my own – maybe the same applies here.

No shortage at all as far as I’m concerned. Errr…not that I’m in the market.

That explains it!
Things have been a lot quieter at my loser neighbours house.
I was hoping they were going out of business!!
Hohoho
what a merry christmas!!
