You’ve got to love a band with a bassoon in it. We had a look at The Monotremes last November. Now they’re returning to The Front:
The Monotremes would like to suggest that you consider arriving and being present for a presentation of musical entertainment comprising the use of acoustic and electronic equipment producing sound, for example such equipment known as MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS including such instruments categorised as MEMBRANOPHONES which are quite often beat in rhythm at regular temporal intervals although sometimes these intervals can be quite SURPRISING and UNEXPECTED, like getting snapped in the face with a wet TOWEL, though frequently such surprises are more PLEASANT and not so DISTURBING, somewhere in between a roller-coaster ride and bumping into an OLD FRIEND.
In other news, electronic sensation Gabe Gilmour was prepared to moderate the sheer SILLINESS with some sensible, ORGANISED sound but instead has turned to the dark side, providing tunes consisting of ridiculous NOISES and (rumour has it) completely musically-unrelated, INCONGRUOUS FLOTSAM.
Please feel welcome, but don’t bring a sleeping bag, unless you intend to dance in it, in which case you should feel SO, SO WELCOME
