The Mulcahy scandal goes to court commission

The Canberra Times has a lot on the Hotels Association scandal and the alleged role in it of not just the Liberal MLA, Richard Mulcahy, but also director of the ACT Liberal Party, Andrew Wilsmore.

Interestingly a large part of Richard Mulcahy’s public defence relies on never having been queried about the monies being spent by the association under his stewardship. But when we discover his close buddy Wilsmore was the chief financial officer it certainly makes one wonder.

In other Liberal News Steve Pratt is claiming that he was defamed by Gary Kent’s infamous email and not content with attacking pudgy theatre promoters he’s threatening to sue his party president.

Fair call Publius.

Reports about the AHA report have surfaced for some time now. We have finally got to a stage where we will start to see some of it in the public domain. This needs to be dealt with once and for all. Richard Mulcahy is entitled to have his name cleared, assuming the process leads to that result. People must not jump to conclusions. However, any serious negative findings will put enormous pressure on the Libs to deal with Mulcahy’s future and those allied to him. It just gets worse and worse for the Libs – all at a time when the Stanhope Government has never looked more vulnerable. Some Liberal Molonglo candidates at the 2004 election will be watching this process with great interest.

No the problem with Pratt is a classic case of post traumatic stress disorder of which we are seeing today. His time with his lunatic captors in Serbia rubbed off nicely in a sort of twisted version of Stockholm syndrome.
So we have the frequent outbursts of a man on the edge of losing it. Mixed in nicely with his authoritarian views and desire for a police state.

I really think we could make another Yes Minister tv series based around ACT politics.

I thought all MLAs except Brendan Smythe signed stat decs that they didn’t leak the email?

Let me get this right. Pratt the pratt is going to sue HIS party president for defamation. Wasn’t it Pratt who originally leaked the personal email sent to him by his party president that has presumably embarrassed him publicly? Work that out!

On top of his embarrassing altercation with that City News guy I think it time for Pratt to return to ASIO. He is a joke and an embarrassment to the Assembly.

Maybe he’s not the anti civil-rights facist he pretends to be, but a Labor party fifth column…

C’mon – think about it, people…

The Liberal circus continues.

Prat obviously has a death wish for his party.
