Kim Sattler

*drum roll*

The Mully Cup* for January 2012 looked like a lock for Simon Corbell as he’s the only person we could think of responsible for housing affordability.

But then Australia Day rolled around and the Prime Minister was publicly humiliated in pictures that went around the world.

It’s still not entirely clear what role Canberra’s Kim Sattler played in the fracas but we’ve judged her a deserving winner of this prestigious trophy.

* The Mully Cup is awarded monthly to the individual who has inspired the most community comment in the last calendar month.

Yoink, pipped at the post!

Hey is there a list of all the winners so far? Like a hall of fame?

Mully would be rolling in his grave at this travesty.

What would he be rolling?

How does Kim Sattler/Julia beat affordability for ‘most community comment’???

There were three or four threads on the topic , not just the one … they’ve been combined by the look of it. Besides, conversation about house prices just isn’t Mully-esque.

Agreed! Given that housing and affordability are words that would have never crossed Mully’s lips yet he would definitely had a thing to say about the Tent Embassy and the burning of the Aussie flag (which he would have had either tattooed on his person somewhere or draped across the parcel shelf of any car he actually owned).

If he spins rapidly enough perhaps he could be used to generate electricity. That’d make him much more useful in death than he ever was in life.

As long as I don’t have to hear JG say “Mzzzzz Sat-la” again anytime soon, I’m ok with it.

Yeah, I wondered that too. But there was one big ‘Lobby’ thread and 3-4 other smaller ones. Also, as mentioned, at the end of the day the ‘affordability’ one (while a relevant topic!) only got that big due to a flame war between 2-3 posters. It probably went to the right topic in the end….

Oh come off it, the “tent embassy” mob were responsible for the mess, not some up-jumped shop-steward. I dare you to take it and present it to them though.

Actually, I’ve got to say this is correct.
It had to go to either the tent embassy itself or Barbara Shaw if you wanted an individual.
Mully would be rolling in his grave at this travesty.

Tent Embassy might be happy to present it themselves …

May I suggest we all have lunch (somewhere with glass windows) to present her with the award?

I’m in. Just don’t tell anyone.

Chop 71 raises an interesting question; how are you going to present the trophy? Could you please let all of us know how you will presenting this prestigious award to Ms Sattler? I, for one, would like to see the event. BYO (spear, or shoe, or cute security person, or booze, or whatever).

(And we can all pretend that we’re not obsessed by real estate…for a single idealistic afternoon.)

how else will she win anything?

Perhaps she could stab another thread in the back…?

the afforability post started on 4 jan and julia didn’t get on board til 26 jan, then only fell a few runs short – what i’m getting at is a pro rata award, or letting the pm’s shoe follies be in the running for the next month, or something.

how else will she win anything?

I think Simon’s going to have to earn his mully the hard way rather than inherit an issue.

Congratulations Kim,

Must be one of your proudest days yet.

May I suggest we all have lunch (somewhere with glass windows) to present her with the award?
