Jeremy Hanson has announced his new front bench:
Member for Brindabella Nicole Lawder will take on three shadow portfolios to become a Canberra Liberals shadow minister. This comes as part of a wider shadow ministerial reshuffle, Leader of the Opposition Jeremy Hanson announced today.
“I’m pleased to confirm several changes to the Canberra Liberals shadow ministry as we continue to take the fight up to an out of touch Labor/Green Government bent on pursuing policies that fail to meet basic needs,” Mr Hanson said.
“Nicole Lawder, who has been in the Legislative Assembly since June, will become Shadow Minister for Family and Community Services, Shadow Minister for Housing and Shadow Minister for the Environment. Nicole’s prior career in the community sector gives her an intimate knowledge of the issues involved with these portfolios and she’ll be an asset to the shadow ministry.
“An already effective shadow minister Andrew Wall will take on the portfolio of Corrections. Andrew entered the Legislative Assembly after being elected at the 2012 ACT election and has shown incredible enthusiasm. He’s well placed to add this challenging new role to his current portfolios of Youth, Indigenous Affairs, Small Business and Disability Services.
“Giulia Jones will take on the new portfolio of Mental Health. This reflects Giulia’s capacity and work in her current roles as Shadow Minister for Women and Shadow Minister for Multicultural Affairs. It also confirms the Canberra Liberals recognition and commitment to mental health as an issue in the ACT.
The full shadow cabinet is available for those playing at home.
