The Q and Buddy.

A group of us travelled last night to see Buddy at Queanbeyan’s new cultural centre called The Q. As we travelled there it was confessed that none of us had ever attended a ‘cultural/entertainment’ event in Queanbeyan so there was much anticipation.

Much to our surprise the Q is an awesome facility. The building looks spectacular and has impressive décor and facilities. The theatre itself is ‘state of the art’ and very comfortable. The Q is certainly much better than anything of comparable size in Canberra.

Well done to Queanbeyan!

On to Buddy. Well it’s brilliant. One of my friends could not believe that the stars were local and that it was amateur theatre.

Dave Evans who plays Buddy Holly is a very gifted performer. His co-stars who play the Big Bopper (Jeremy Brown) and Ritchie Valens (Adrian Flor) are also electric as are the dancers.

I highly recommend a visit to the Q and also to see Buddy.

There is nothing surprising about Queanbeyan providing such an excellent facility, or such talented performers. Their amateur theatre has been of a very high standard for many years.
