Have you seen what Braddon looks like on the Friday night of Summernats?

Have you seen what Braddon looks like from the top of a tall man riding a tallbike through the Summernats crowd with Canberra’s Rat Patrol?

It’s a unique perspective let me tell you sent in by devdsp.

Why the hell can i not burn me leaves and twigs, as I used to, years ago, but spectators, some with their young kids, are able to suck in every known baddy from tyre smoke, and it’s OK, sanctioned by the ACT Guvvy.

Would like a little poll of who from our Assembly actually goes to summernatts. Not too many I’d be thinkin.

Burning your leaves and twigs is perfectly legal, so long as you are burning them in a fire for heating or cooking (not waste disposal). So toss some spuds in, or give the kids a marshmallow on a stick, and burn off all you want.

Subject to firebans of course.

& plastic containers……..

Alistair Coe came as one of my guests in 2011 and really enjoyed it from all accounts.

This year there was a member of the NT government who attended and even did a burnout

Wow! Only Bike Riders can make Summernats Devotees seem like reasonable people!

Undertaking is illegal y’know.

😉

So where do all the dead bodies go then?

Also note the recent court cases with cars turning left into bikes.)

The idea of cars turning into bikes is a little upsetting.

No. It’s a shame ignorance isn’t though.

In a motor vehicle, yes, mostly, except when the other vehicle is turning … but it’s one of the very few road rules which are different for a bicycle. It is OK for a bicycle to pass on the left in the current Australian road rules as long as the other vehicle is not turning left. (and note that’s actually turning, not just stopped and indicating, and obviously not turning left without indicating too. Also note the recent court cases with cars turning left into bikes.)

Attention from AFP is a pretty big deal! That was the day of the night of the ninja.
