The self government review sees the light of day

johnboy 24 August 2012

Shane Rattenbury has waited for two minutes to midnight to table his review into the Self Government Act.

Recommendations of note include:

    — a formal recognition of the traditional custodians of the land,

    — Self-determination on the size of the Legislative Assembly

    — Getting MLA’s out of discussions that involve their commercial interests

    — Hooking the ACT Government up to the deliberations of the Governor-General.

    — ACT laws to bind the Crown except where Commonwealth law restricts it.
