2XX’s LocalNLive team have been recording local musicians singing in the back of a moving green Daihatsu Sirion.

You can see them on their YouTube page.

Featured here is Sam King’s rather beautiful “I remember” which was posted with this note:

A riff on The Black Cab Sessions, showcasing Canberra musos and landmarks, and utilising one very sexy green Daihatsu.

Listen to LocalNLive 4-6pm weekdays on 2XX, 98.3FM

Well worth checking them out.

Oh, and great song beautifully realised, Sam!

Sigh! My first car was a Dato-180B. Brilliant little car, ran on the smell of an oily rag, went like the clappers (except coming up the Clyde) and was awesome — until the night I wrapped it around a tree in Fraser. Hint: if the cold May air is coming through the passenger window, wait until you’ve stopped the car before reaching over to try to wind up the window…

You’d be lucky to hear the music in a moving datto

Hopefully they’ll do a bit better when they bring the brand back in a year or two.
