none of those places have public art and aren’t known to tourists

This will save you having to send your kiddies to a school swimming carnival, go throw em in the river.

Uriarra’s my favourite. When there’s water in the river. And unfortunately the trees on the little peninsula got washed away in the floods. But we have a new fave spot now that is more private and better for swimming.

When we don’t want to drive that far, we go to Black Mountain Peninsula. It’s a good spot, though could do with more shade and there are no dogs allowed there.

When you are driving over the Tharwa bridge, stop the car when you are half way over. Look to your left and right. See all that sand? That is the amazing Tharwa sandwash. Just saved you the disappointment. I think that flyer was written by a used car salesman … or worse … a real estate agent!

I see he is declining to state where there are bins… I’ve been for a few picnics down at Pine Island over the last couple of months, in each case there is not a bin to be found… Whilst we know now that we need to bring a bin bag with us, I would have thought that was a pretty standard thing that would be supplied where there are BBQ’s…
