Many things have been named after our fair city; a US Navy heavy cruiser, a jet bomber, and er… Well to ad to that list today we stumbled upon the “Victorinox Canberra Dual-Access Laptop Pack” from the makers of shiny Swiss army knives.

Also rounding out their range of bags is the Oxford and the Bond.

Anything about it that strikes you as particularly “Canberra”?

It’s the same colour as John Howard’s face (ATM) – heh heh!

I wonder, being made by Victorinox, if the bag contains 6354135496 or so functions. A compact umbrella, 2 person crosscut saw, a small folding gazebo, life raft, a trained terrier, 2 years emergency rations, a generator, etc.

Something to do with all the bagmen who frequent the house on the hill.

A white elephant or twelve!

Big enough to store a white elephant.

Sorry, that should have read “It could be full of hot air?”!

Although, I am full of hot air too!

I could be full of hot air?

The rest of Australia is expected to carry it?

The zippers could be described as being reminiscent of the shape of the many roundabouts in Canberra…

There are plenty of zipped-up bags to be found here…

It’s red, so it reflects the political persuasion of many Canberra residents.

I think the maroon colour represents the high number of Qlders who live here.

It’s probably called Canberra because:
a) It costs more than it needs to
b) It tries to do more than it needs to
c) It used a huge amount of resources to do it
d) Everyone thinks it’s nice, but wouldn’t buy it
e) You can get a laptop bag thrown in with your laptop if you know how to negotiate.
