The Wedding Singer

Can anyone recommend a local band that would do a good job at a wedding? The wedding is in April and we need to start finding a band ASAP.

We want a group that plays anything from triple j to swing style numbers- ie, crowd pleasers- for young and old.

If you are in a band, or know of a pub band, let me know! Email details and suggestions to jessieduck1980 (at) yahoo.com.au or post below!

Cheers- Chief Bridesmaid Jess.

Hit parade are perfect. They have a huge range of songs and tailor to the event really well, and they actually listen to you!
So when you say, quite at this point for background music, they do it, or can we turn it up now everybodys in the swing, they do it. They are very pleasant, stay politely out of the way as appropriate (as when they are not playing they are not seen or heard)
They are SO professional!

You know the jingle, ‘fresh, fresh, get it fresh at the Fyshwick markets…yum yum” that is a side job for the singer!

They are a wife, hubby and others crew.

Have seen them in many wedding and event situations, from presentation nights, to formal awards functions, to New Years Eve at the local club and weddings.

They get it right every time!

Clearly I can not get enough…..

I second what caf said. They were our wedding band, and played a good range of blues/soul to keep everyone happy.

Annie and the Armadillos play a wide range, from swing and lounge classics to rock. You could have gone to see them for nix at the botanic gardens yesterday evening…

there’s a band called Big Boss groove who are excellent, I’ve seen them at a few parties, don’t know what they’d cost though. I got a quote from a dj for 5 hrs for my wedding and it was only $470.

I’d put my hand up if you were looking for jazz/swing, but as it sounds as if you’re more into rock, try TopShelf: http://www.top-shelf.net.au. They do a pretty broad mix of covers and there are some good demos on the website. And they’re great live performers. (Hi, Colin!)

A good band are worth every dollar and better than a good DJ but having a bad Band can ruin your night and you’re better off with a good DJ. You cant’t go past Hit Parade http://www.hitparade.com.au/ if you want a really good wedding band but for a good DJ go with any of the guys at 3D, you’ll probably find they handle your MC duties as well if required as well as DJ.
