It’s running until 6pm this afternoon so get your boardies on and get down for some great bands including:

    — Space Party,
    — The Long Boreds,
    — The Missing Lincolns,
    — Julia & As Many Deep Sea Sirens As She Can Wrangle

Make it a regular event!! Why isn’t Glebe park used for this type of thing? Stage 88 would’ve been good for it too. FM104, FM106, 2CA or 2CC how about sponsoring this type of thing every weekend during summer???

I think that if any radio station did something like that, it wouldn’t be as anywhere as cool as this looks.

Absolutely.

2XX is the only station that would come close and I don’t believe their budget would stretch to much.

Kudos to 106.3 for getting behind the Stage 88 stuff last night — it seemed to entertain the masses. But really, it was the bland headlining the bland.

It was pretty crappy a Cube daylight event!!! Spent 1 minute there

A drag queen on the mic makes it a Cube event?

Which one is the drag queen? – the one with red hair and red shorts? his tits don’t look too bad!! from a womans point of view that is hehe

I didn’t get any pictures of the MC

I agree that if FM104 were to promote it, the music would be like, to quote Clarkson, people banging bits of garden furniture together.

20 years ago 2XX would’ve been able to get away with promoting it.

bingo.

Would that be Beach Blanket Bingo?

Annette Funicello would have fitted in well at this, by the look.

How likely would that be to happen, given that none of those radio stations support or play any of the bands that appeared at The Beach or any other Canberra independent music for that matter?

Thank you. I’m now going to this event.

You think your heartbreak taught you how to cry? You think your life has brought you pain?
You’ve been living in 2d.

A whole 60 seconds, hey? So glad you took the time for an objective assessment…..

This is such an inspired event. I posted a photo online with the imposing ATO building in the background and a friend commented that the building couldn’t be more ugly, to which I replied that this just made the contrast with what was going on in the foreground all the more salient.

Then I watched two muggles zip past on bikes, apply the brakes and comment to each other, ‘This is SO cool’. Last sighted one of the cyclists walking in with a program in hand.
