ACT Policing has arrested a 24-year-old Pearce man following a burglary and theft in Canberra’s south last week.

Around 7.30pm last Friday night, police were called to a home in Bonython after its occupant reported a burglary. A number of items stolen were reported including a phone, cash, alcohol and a camera.

AFP Forensic officers attended the house and obtained a number of forensic samples for analysis.

As a result of the forensic samples taken, an offender was identified.

Around 3.40pm yesterday the offender was located at The Calwell Club where police found him in possession of property stolen from the Bonython burglary. Police also located a set of keys to a Holden Commodore which was stolen from Jerrabomberra.

Subsequently, police located the Commodore in the car park of The Calwell Club.

The man was conveyed to the ACT Watch House and charged with burglary and theft. He will face the ACT Magistrates Court this morning.

Theft while reading here – I wish to contribute a couple of little stories one in which occurred this evening. This is for the community of Canberra to assist them (and not to push anything on people); entirely up to you all; however John I will understand fully if you do not post it.

A Credit card was lost tonight purchasing some necessities, that had pay wave on it and of course could be used by anyone for a great deal of money. My daughter had the card and it had dropped near a major shopping centre for any one to pick up and use for two hours. It was not until she arrived home that she discovered it missing.

While ringing around proved fruitless, I prayed to Saint Anthony through Jesus, “Please Saint Anthony Full of Grace could you take my Son to its hiding place”. A thought popped into his head to go back there to the carpark. On the ground in the place my daughter had parked; it was found (within ten minutes).

Now, it reminds me of the time my Son came home from school one day upset in Year 8 when he informed me that some guys outside of the school had entered the premises and stolen many wallets from a room while the class was out.

I prayed to Saint Anthony and out of all the wallets stolen; my Son’s wallet turned up at a nearby shopping centre carpark. I had told him that Saint Anthony would find the wallet if he believed that He would. My Son did believe and with a grin (the wallet was given by a family member and held some old tickets of something he had attended during a hard time in his life with health) bounded home that afternoon showing me his wallet with the tickets inside and everything else he had kept.

…The power of Prayer!

Holden Commodore; the lowest common denominator in Canberra Criminology. How long it took to recognise the obvious!

You can almost guarantee that the guy is/was out on bail or some such……

Probably on his 19th good behaviour bond. Because, you know, everyone deserves a 20th chance.

When I was burgled they didn’t even dust for fingerprints. Nothing. What “forensic samples” were taken I wonder?

You can almost guarantee that the guy is/was out on bail or some such……

What? Someone from the prestige suburb of Pearce robbed someone from Bonython? That does not compute. Next thing you know someone from Red Hill will rob a house in Charnwood.

Scum. It’s the lowest act to break into someone’s home.

What an asshole, I hope he gets some time inside.
