This week on 7.30 ACT

johnboy 28 October 2011

This in from our friends at the ABC:

7.30 ACT for Friday October 28th. Compere: Chris Kimball.

1.The Queen in Canberra.
Undaunted by multi-culturalism or republicanism, Canberrans, young and old went along to see the Queen. Kate Evans reports the voices of Canberrans, noted and not – including the teenage girls who wept – and the little boy who wanted to cuddle the Queen to see what she felt like.

Report from Chris Uhlmann in Perth.

3. The Memorials War

Some new developments have emerged in the story about the contentious proposal to build two new memorials at the lake end of Anzac Parade. It now seems unlikely to go ahead.

4. GWS
Canberra gets an AFL team – sort of, a bit, three matches a year. (Incidentally, the reporter Ben Lisson, has been picked for Australia’s bob sled team and is off to Calgary – with a lucky egg)

5. Xanadu
One of the many treats at Canberra’s International Film Festival – the all-singing dancing Gene Kelly and Olivia Newton.
